Pamela Anderson bares all for Final Nude Cover of ‘Playboy’: I Asked My Sons’ Permission

Pamela Anderson, 48, who has appeared naked in Playboy 14 times and on the cover 13 times, will cover the magazine’s final nude edition in January/February 2016.

This marks the end of a more than 60-year tradition in which women as diverse as Madonna, Kim Kardashian, and Cindy Crawford have stripped down for the glossy men’s newspaper.

As part of an editorial redesign, Playboy declared in October that it will no longer print photos of fully naked women.

Anderson spoke with ET’s Carly Steel about the significance of the Playboy cover and how she came to be featured on it again again.

“I got a call from [Hugh Hefner’s] attorney who said, ‘We don’t want anybody else. There’s nobody else, could you do the last cover of Playboy?’” she revealed.

The “Baywatch” babe had one worry was her sons, Brandon, 19, and Dylan, 17.

She told “ET” that the boys had been taunted and mocked for years, and that they had a few fist fights over their mother.

Anderson claims that it was one of her sons that informed her that Playboy will be redesigned from top to bottom.

“I was like, ‘What? Are you serious?’ But then I thought that’s probably a good thing,” Anderson explained. “It’s hard to compete with the Internet. And the girl next door doesn’t exist anymore. She’s taking selfies down her shirt, like, you know, there’s no mystery over there anymore. It doesn’t have that same charm and innocence that it used to.”

Anderson recounted, “I said, ‘He just called, he wants me to do the last cover of Playboy,’ and he goes, ‘Mom you’ve got to do it.'”

When she told Brandon she was going to pose naked, he responded, “We’re older, we’re not embarrassed anymore of you. You know, we think you’re great.”

“He was so excited…,” the singer said. “He may have high-fived me…”

“And then I asked Dylan too, and Dylan’s like, ‘Mom, you know you’ve done it all.’ I don’t know what to say but, they were really excited for me, and I was excited too.”

“I took off all my clothes, and I rolled down the hill as fast as I can,” she told “ET.” “I was just screaming, and hair and boobs were flying, and shoes were going everywhere, and they and Ellen [Von Unwerth] shot it.”

The issue will reach newsstands on December 11. She is also featured in a 12-page picture spread and is interviewed by James Franco, the actor.

According to the magazine, the historic last naked edition features only one lady.

“To close out this era in the magazine’s history, it only made sense to put the most famous Playmate in Playboy history on the cover: Pamela Anderson,” staff wrote on Thursday.

According to the magazine, this is Anderson’s 14th Playboy cover and her 15th pictorial for the publication.

Hugh Hefner, who established Playboy in 1953, stated that the naked Playboy publications had become obsolete owing to the abundance of free pornography on the Internet. The circulation of the Playboy has decreased in recent years, from about 5.6 million in 1975 to around 800,000 in recent years.

Anderson claims she was “nervous and throwing up” the first time she posed for the magazine, although she now appears to be a natural.

“I was painfully shy before, but then it clicked in my head that nobody cares what you look like naked except you,” she told the magazine. “People are more concerned about themselves and their own flaws.”

Anderson also discussed her admiration for Hefner and how she never expected the magazine to invite her to appear again.

“He’s such a sweetheart and he’s just been such a big part of my life. And people have been asking me over the last year, ‘Would you ever pose for Playboy again?’ I’m like, ‘They’re never going to ask… I mean I’m sure they’re sick of me,’” she admitted. “So when Hef asked, I couldn’t help myself.”

“I had a rough few years where I felt a little insecure, ‘cause you know everyone’s getting older,” Anderson revealed. “I thought, ‘My gosh, I miss the Playboy days.’ It was so glamorous, it was so chivalrous, there’s so many people there that were so smart, and activism, and art. You know, I just kind of miss that whole crowd and us being these little giggling girls kind of running around the mansion half naked and trying to get everybody’s attention.”

Marilyn Monroe was featured on the cover of Playboy for the first time in 1953, and a naked centerfold of the Hollywood star was printed. However, Hefner purchased the photograph from a calendar printer, and Monroe did not pose naked specifically for the magazine.

The March issue of Playboy will have a new look and a mix of interviews, fiction, and long-form journalism, according to the publication. It will keep publishing “sexy, seductive pictorials” of women, including its renowned Playmates, but they will no longer be naked.
