Nicole Kidman said Stanley Kubrick made a contract giving her the final say on her n^de scenes in ‘Eyes Wide Shut’

Nicole Kidman has revealed that she secured a contractual agreement with director Stanley Kubrick which allowed her to have the final say on all of her n^de scenes in his final movie, “Eyes Wide Shut.”

The actress said that under the terms of the contract, Kubrick would show her the scenes with n^dty before they were included in the film.

This gave her the assurance that she could feel completely safe while filming.

Kidman added that while many believe that the movie led to her and Tom Cruise’s divorce, they were happily married throughout its making.

Kubrick was known for being a legendary director who was known for his unwavering creative control over his movies.

He was willing to work with Kidman by agreeing to give her the final say in any n^de scenes she was in.

This was agreed upon after Kidman expressed hesitation about doing n^dty for the 1999 erotic drama about a married couple going through jealousy and infidelity that also starred her then-husband Tom Cruise.

Kidman said in a recent interview with David Marchese in The New York Times Magazine, “When I went to work with Stanley Kubrick, he was like, ‘I’m going to want full-frontal nudity,’ and I was like, ‘Ahh, I don’t know.’

So we came up with a great agreement, which was contractual.

He would show me the scenes with n^dty before they made it into the film.

Then I could feel completely safe.

I didn’t say no to any of it.

I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t going to be me standing there n^de and everyone laughing at me.”

Kidman went on to say that she doesn’t have any issues doing n^dty in movies, but she has to feel safe, and that’s where having an agreement in writing between her and the director helps.

She believes that there needs to be a place where an actor can go and not be exploited.

Then they can go down the road with the director.

She loves the relationship between a director and an actor, and when it’s pure, it’s exquisite.

Kidman revealed that making “Eyes Wide Shut” was a project that she and Cruise were on for two years, even though it was originally supposed to be only three months.

There were times when they would say, “When is it going to end?”

but she said it’s a “fallacy” to think they didn’t have fun making the movie.

They loved working with Kubrick, who died before the release of “Eyes Wide Shut.”

They shot for two years, had two kids, and lived in a trailer on the lot primarily, making spaghetti because Stanley liked to eat with them sometimes.

They were working with the greatest filmmaker and learning about their lives and enjoying their lives on set.

However, two years after “Eyes Wide Shut” was released, Kidman and Cruise filed for divorce after being married for 11 years.

When asked if she thinks those tough scenes Kubrick put them through, where their characters said hurtful things to one another, led to them splitting in real life, Kidman responded by saying, “That fits the narrative that people came up with, but I definitely didn’t see it like that.

We were happily married through that.

We would go go-kart racing after those scenes.

We’d rent out a place and go racing at three in the morning.

I don’t know what else to say.

Maybe I don’t have the ability to look back and dissect it.

Or I’m not willing to.”
