Morgan Freeman ‘had sexual relationship with step-granddaughter’

According to the man accused of murdering E’Dena Hines, Morgan Freeman had an “inappropriate” sexual relationship with her.

Freeman and Hines, who is Freeman’s step-granddaughter from his first marriage to Jeannette Adair Bradshaw, previously scoffed at the allegations.

E’Dena Hines was killed outside her apartment in Washington Heights, New York, on August 16, 2015.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office claims that Hines’ lover, Lamar Davenport, stabbed her 25 times. Hines is Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter from his first marriage to Jeannette Adair Bradshaw.

According to the New York Daily News and the New York Post, Lamar Davenport’s lawyer Beth Unger said that before Hines’ death in New York City in 2015, Hines “disclosed to… Davenport and others that her grandfather engaged in a sexually inappropriate relationship with her.”

His defense team didn’t go into depth, but they did provide testimony from a therapist who claimed Davenport admitted to frequently battling with Hines about infidelity, with each accusing the other of being unfaithful.

Dr. Jeremy Colley said, “Lamar admitted to me that they had a violent relationship. [Their] disagreements could be emotionally intense.”

During the hearing on Friday, it was discovered that Hines texted Davenport about her relationship with Freeman.

Hines wrote, “I don’t ask him for advice. He was calling to ask me … I blocked him for myself not for you because men who equal grandpa feelings don’t need to be in my life at all.”

When her “grandpa” came up in the conversation, the pair was contemplating their relationship and whether or not to take a break.

“When it comes to . . . your grandfather, there’s a submissive love that will always be there,” Davenport said in a message to her.

Morgan had a romantic involvement with E’Dena, whom he informally adopted together with his second wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, for years.

“The recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media designed to sell papers. What is even more alarming is that these fabrications are now being picked up by the legitimate press as well,” Freeman stated in a statement in 2012, according to TMZ.

According to TMZ, Hines concurred in her own statement. “These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also hurtful to me and my family,” she added.

Morgan was accompanied to the 2005 Golden Globes by E’Dena, and the two collaborated on a number of films, including the 2014 picture 5 Flights Up.

During his first marriage to Jeanette Adair-Bradshaw, the 80-year-old adopted her biological mother, Deena Adair, and then raised Hines with his second wife, Myrna Colley-Lee. Jeanette had a daughter named Adair.

According to Davenport’s defense, he was in a drug-induced psychosis at the time of Hines’ death and hence was not criminally responsible for her death.

For a second-degree murder charge, he faces a sentence of 25 years to life in jail.
