Mischa Barton, a former child star and actress, made comments about Leonardo DiCaprio in 2005 that have resurfaced online in the wake of recent controversy surrounding the actor’s relationships.

The 48-year-old actor faced backlash for reportedly dating 19-year-old model Eden Polani earlier this year, adding to previous criticism for his track record of dating women decades younger than him and ending the relationship once they turned 25.

In fact, last year, it was pointed out that Leo has never dated someone past their 25th birthday in any of his long-term relationships.

However, his link to Eden is the youngest person he has been linked to since 1999, when he began an on-again, off-again relationship with Gisele Bündchen when she was 18 and he was 24.

They ended things for good in 2005, the same year Gisele turned 25.

Social media users have highlighted the 29-year age gap between Leo and Eden, with some comparing it to David Harbour dating his 18-year-old Stranger Things costar Millie Bobby Brown or Pedro Pascal dating his The Last of Us costar Bella Ramsey, who is 19.

Past comments made about Leo’s love life have also resurfaced, including Mischa Barton’s revelation that her publicist told her to sleep with Leo for media attention when she was a teenager.

Mischa made her TV debut at 8 years old and became popular for her role in the movie Lawn Dogs at age 10.

She became a mainstream celebrity in 2003 for her role in the TV series The O.C. At age 19, when Leo and Gisele had recently broken up, Mischa said her publicist, Craig Schneider, told her to sleep with Leo “for the sake of [her] career.”

However, she was not interested in older men and said, “Isn’t Leo, like, 30 or something?”

A pop culture Twitter account resurfaced the story this year, commenting “this aged well” in light of Leo’s recent controversy.

Social media users have also pointed out that his current girlfriend was only two years old when Mischa made her comments in 2005, and that Leo is now 50 years old.

After Gisele, Leo began dating 20-year-old Israeli model Bar Refaeli, who he was with until she was 25.

He has since dated a string of women in their early 20s, including Blake Lively, Erin Heatherton, Toni Garrn, Kelly Rohrbach, and Nina Agdal.

He also dated Camila Morrone for four years, splitting up two months after her 25th birthday, and was briefly linked to 27-year-old Gigi Hadid before spending time with 23-year-old Victoria Lamas.

Leo was photographed with Eden on February 2, but it is unclear whether they are actually dating.
