Minnie Driver was sexually assaulted at 17
Actress Minnie Driver has recently opened up about her experience of being sexually assaulted when she was just 17 years old.
During a recent appearance on Sirius XM’s StandUP! with Pete Dominick, Driver recounted her assault while on vacation in Greece.
She described how a man forcefully grabbed her and insisted that she dance with him.
When she refused and attempted to pull away, he aggressively yanked her hair and punched her.
Now 46, Driver revealed that the police at the time had placed the blame on her for the altercation.

She recalled their dismissive attitude, suggesting that if she had simply complied and danced with the man, the incident would have been avoided.
The “Speechless” actress also addressed the fear that many young women face when speaking out about similar experiences.
She explained how societal expectations often pressure women into accepting unwanted male attention as part of their role.
This can lead to instances of groping, manhandling, and other forms of physical aggression being brushed aside or trivialized.
Driver expressed her belief that many women have experienced some form of sexual assault at various points in their lives.
She stated that the issue extends from mild incidents, such as being pushed around or manhandled, to more severe cases like rape.
The actress lamented that she knows far too many women who have faced these traumatic experiences.
