Miley Cyrus Reacts after fan groped and forcibly kissed her ‘Without Consent’

On June 3-4, a video of actress-singer Miley Cyrus being groped by a male fan surfaced online. Miley and her husband, actor Liam Hemsworth, had to pass through a swarm of fans to get to their car as they left their hotel in Barcelona, Spain. She was subjected to harassment here.

During the brief encounter, someone grabbed the singer by the hair and pulled her in for a kiss. Security then intervened and moved the individual away. Cyrus was in town to take part in the Primavera Sound Festival.

Following the event, Hemsworth, who was escorting Cyrus through the crowd, instantly wrapped his arm around his wife and ushered her into an SUV.

Miley took to social media to discuss the event and the accompanying victim-blaming. Miley addressed a prevalent fallacy regarding assault by using a picture of the individual who assaulted her: that she was “asking for it” based on external variables. “She can be wearing what she wants. She can be sleeping with 5 different people. She can be with her husband. She can be with her girlfriend. She can be naked. She CAN’T be grabbed without her consent,” the Black Mirror star wrote.

Cyrus included the hashtag #Dont(Expletive)WithMyFreedom, which is also a line from her new song “Mother’s Daughter.”

Miley Cyrus also included a video clip from a TV show in which a reporter discussed the event. The host also explains how Miley’s privacy has been breached and how such instances should not occur.

In another tweet, Cyrus retaliated against social media trolls who remarked on how she was dressed at the time of the incident.

“Don’t fuck with my freedom. #stillnotaskingforit,” she wrote.

“It is unacceptable for someone to be touched without their consent,” said Erinn Robinson, publicity secretary for RAINN. “Consent is an agreement between two people. There are many different things that someone can do in this situation, ranging from forcibly telling the other person that the action was unacceptable and to never do it again to reporting the action to authorities.”

In the meanwhile, the Adore You singer is promoting her new EP, She Is Coming.

Miley Cyrus rose to fame during the four seasons of her famous Disney sitcom Hannah Montana.
