Meghan Markle’s New Ventures: A Recipe for Trouble?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in the spotlight with news of two new shows in the works for Netflix.

However, there’s a catch—Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed either the cooking show or the polo series.

This raises an intriguing question: Is Meghan just throwing out ideas and hoping they stick?

It certainly seems that way, as there’s uncertainty surrounding whether these projects will even make it to the small screen.

Archibald, who is tasked with creating these shows, will ultimately have to wait for Netflix’s approval.

But will that approval come?

Many are skeptical about the public’s interest in Meghan’s culinary take on toast or Harry’s polo escapades.

While polo has its fans, it’s a niche sport that may not resonate with a wider audience.

It’s puzzling to see Meghan announce these potential ventures without any solid backing or confirmation.

There’s an air of urgency in her announcements, which suggests she might be feeling the pressure.

The hastily put-together webpage and vague promotional videos seem like a reaction to something—perhaps Netflix’s lukewarm response to her lifestyle cooking show.

It almost feels like Meghan is trying to entice the streaming giant by showcasing her ideas, only to face indifference in return.

Initially, the rush to launch seemed linked to recent events involving Catherine, but then came a cancer announcement shortly after Meghan’s Orchard debut.

This timing raises eyebrows.

Was Meghan genuinely upset with Netflix?

Did she expect a massive viewership surge to sway their decision?

Now, she claims she’ll step back from launching more ventures, possibly out of respect for Catherine’s situation or to shift blame for any lack of interest.

As of now, Netflix has yet to confirm anything.

Archibald has only hinted at production through two different companies, sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of a crew filming at a polo event.

There are also clips of Harry in Hawaii and Meghan in Uvalde, but none of this footage has ever been part of an actual show.

Meanwhile, the couple still has a movie in limbo—Meet Me at the Lake was announced last August, but since then, silence has reigned.

No director, no screenwriter, and no casting have been revealed.

Given the substantial investment Netflix made to acquire the rights for this film, one would think it would be a priority.

If delays continue, Netflix might take the opportunity to sever ties altogether.

Lady C, in her latest book, suggests that Netflix may be waiting until the final season of The Crown airs before making any decisions about Harry and Meghan.

This strategy could be aimed at avoiding backlash from Prince Harry.

There’s speculation that Netflix could be contemplating legal action for breach of contract, adopting a wait-and-see approach.

If the new shows turn out to be half-hearted efforts, they might never even reach post-production.

Back in 2020, Harry and Meghan signed a five-year deal with Netflix, with their documentary series Harry and Meghan being their standout project, shedding light on their lives in the royal family.

With the contract set to expire in 2025, questions loom about what the couple’s next steps might be if Netflix chooses not to renew.

As they navigate these uncertain waters, one thing is clear: the world will be watching closely to see how this story unfolds.
