In an exclusive interview with 60 Minutes Australia, Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan Markle, has opened up about his strained relationship with his daughter and her husband, Prince Harry.

The interview, set to air on Sunday, June 13, is expected to reveal shocking details about their estrangement.

Markle, who claims he hasn’t spoken to Meghan in three years, expressed his regret for a “dumb mistake” he made just days before their wedding.

He disclosed that he hasn’t had any communication with his daughter since two days prior to their marriage ceremony.

Furthermore, he revealed that he was not informed about the birth of his granddaughter, Lilibet Diana, stating, “No phone calls, I just heard it on the radio.

You’ll be very disappointed that I don’t get to hold my granddaughter.”

The 40-second trailer for the upcoming interview also showcased Markle’s warning, “You want dirty laundry?

This is the first time I’ve discussed these things.”

It seems that he is ready to reveal previously undisclosed information about his strained relationship with Meghan.

This revelation comes as no surprise, as Meghan Markle and her father have had a tumultuous relationship since it was revealed that he had staged photographs with the paparazzi leading up to her wedding in May 2018.

These images depicted Markle preparing for the royal wedding, including fitting a tuxedo and researching images of Great Britain in an internet cafe.

He later admitted regretting his actions, calling them “hammy and stupid.”

In the days leading up to the wedding, Markle decided not to attend the ceremony to save his daughter and her new royal relatives from embarrassment.

It was announced that he was having urgent heart surgery at the time.

As a result, Prince Charles walked Meghan down the aisle, while her mother, Doria Ragland, watched on.

Since then, Thomas Markle has given numerous interviews in which he criticized the behavior of the royal family and his daughter.

During Meghan and Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess expressed her sense of betrayal regarding her father’s actions.

She struggled to comprehend his behavior, as she herself couldn’t imagine intentionally causing pain to her son, Archie.

As of now, Markle has yet to meet either of his grandchildren.

While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have settled in California, Thomas Markle currently resides in Rosarito, Mexico.

The couple recently welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana, who was safely delivered at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital last Friday.
