Meghan Markle’s dad calls Ellen chat ‘stupid stunt,’ says she lied

Meghan Markle’s father has called her surprise Ellen interview a “stupid stunt” and thinks her appearance would disgrace the Royal Family.

Thomas Markle Sr acknowledged to tuning in with apprehension.

But he said he opted to watch his daughter, but he didn’t expect a 20-minute clingefest as she got up to mischief on the show.

According to The Sunday Mirror, she took part in a sketch during the event in which she did squats and was instructed to say ridiculous things at a market booth.

“It’s no way to behave,” Thomas, 77, told the Sunday Mirror. “The whole thing was kind of embarrassing. It was certainly embarrassing for the Royal Family.

“It’s embarrassing for her as well. I suspect it embarrassed everyone in the UK, too.

“She’s putting herself out there as a duchess but I’ve never seen a duchess behave this way, doing stupid stunts.”

Markle, who has infamously struggled to maintain a bond with his ex-royal daughter, said Meghan forgot to appreciate his support when speaking about her modest beginnings as an actress.

Back in the studio, Meghan discussed her experiences as a struggling actor in her twenties, auditioning at a Los Angeles studio. She claimed that her car’s doors were malfunctioning, forcing her to enter and exit through the trunk.

In response to Meghan’s comments, Thomas stated, “The Ford Explorer she had in her early 20s that she mentioned was a good running vehicle. I don’t remember any time she had to crawl out of the back of it to get out, like she said.

“The doors worked fine on that vehicle until the day she got rid of it.”

“I’m disappointed she didn’t mention me. I hooked her up with a director on the General Hospital TV show and that got her a couple of lines on one of the shows which got her a union card,” he said.

“It’s really difficult to get a job without a card so that was crucial. I paid for the card too. I’ve been disappointed all this hasn’t been acknowledged.”

During the show, the duchess also gave out copies of her children’s book The Bench to audience members, as a photograph of her wearing jeans, a T-shirt, and yellow Peppa Pig Hunter wellies came up on the screen.

Her father claimed to have read the book and noted that the only thing appealing to a child about it is the picture of the dog on the front. Thomas and Meghan had a spat after he worked with a US photo agency to take photos of him getting ready for her wedding.

Markle proposed that Meghan and Prince Harry visit the Royal Family at Christmas in what might be their “last chance” to meet the Queen in a parting message to his estranged daughter.

“Harry should go, without a doubt. This might be the last chance he gets to see his grandmother. I really feel bad for her, they have treated her so poorly and been so rude. I have great respect for the Queen and the Royal Family,” he said.
