Margot Robbie insisted on undressing for this scene

Australian actor Margot Robbie insisted on doing a n/de scene in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film, The Wolf of Wall Street.

The crime drama, which also starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Matthew McConaughey, includes several explicit scenes, including moments of heavy cocaine use and graphic s**ual encounters.

Robbie chose to appear n/de in one of these scenes, arguing that it would enhance the authenticity of the moment and contribute to the nature of her character.

Scorsese initially offered to reduce the amount of n/d^ty in the scene, but Robbie refused, stating that she was committed to the creative choice.

In a 2014 interview with the Telegraph, Robbie explained her perspective on n/d^ty in film.

Trending:

“I think n/d^ty for the sake of n/d^ty is shameful,” she said.

“If they’ve put it in just so that a girl gets her top off, then that’s disgusting.

“And you can always tell.”

Robbie also expressed her frustration with the way films often choreograph n/d^ty to avoid showing too much.

“But I also think it’s disgusting when someone would have got n/ked in real life, in the film they conveniently leave their bra on or hold up the bed sheet,” she said.

“Seeing someone being choreographed into being covered up irritates me just as much.”

In The Wolf of Wall Street, Robbie played Naomi, a shallow social climber whose body is her only form of currency.

Robbie felt it was important to remain true to the character and refused Scorsese’s suggestion that she wear a robe in the seduction scene.

“The whole point of Naomi is that her body is her only form of currency in this world,” she said.

“So when Marty [Scorsese] was trying to help me out and said in the scene where she seduces Jordan, perhaps I could have a robe on, I said she wouldn’t.”

“She has to be n/ked. She’s laying her cards on the table.”

Since working with Scorsese, Robbie has expanded her career, collaborating with directors such as Quentin Tarantino, James Gunn, and David O. Russell.

She has upcoming projects with Wes Anderson and Greta Gerwig, as well as the much-anticipated Barbie movie, which has only been teased with small details.
