Kristen Stewart Says Shooting Twilight Sex Scene Was ‘Agony’

Kristen Stewart, who rose to fame as Bella Swan in the Twilight franchise, admitted that the pressure of living up to the series’ fans’ expectations was difficult.

Stewart, in particular, told Harper’s Bazaar UK that filming sex scenes with ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in the fourth installment of the series, Breaking Dawn, is “grotesquely uncomfortable.”

“We had to do the most epic sex scene of all time,” K-Stew says. “It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better sex than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were like, ‘how do we live up to that?'” Even K-Stew can’t answer that rhetorical question; the sensation of inadequacy “sucks,” she explains, because she wanted the scenario to be “so good.” Oh, but for the rest of us, it was Kristen…

K. Stew isn’t opposed to all sex scenes. “I only hate them when they’re contrived. That’s when it’s grotesquely uncomfortable.”

She also expressed her skepticism about big-name actresses appearing topless for a cinematic role.

Kristen explained: “I just even question when a fairly established actress finally does a scene on a movie when she shows her boobs and she hasn’t done it up until this moment.

“And maybe she only did it for the prestigious part and it’s okay for this time because it’s classy, and I’m like, ‘Oh God, thank you for revealing to the world your treasure’.”

“Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard,” the actress said of sexism in the film business. “Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy.”

And this is why Stewart is the coolest person on the earth right now. When it comes to speaking her opinion and pointing out sexist double standards, she gives no f—ks.
