King Charles and Camilla Claim First Ever Win at Royal Ascot

The British Royal Family is in the news again, as King Charles and Queen Camilla experienced a momentous occasion at the annual Royal Ascot festival.

The King and Queen were present at the event, which is a tradition upheld by Queen Elizabeth II.

However, it was their first-ever win that stole the show.

On Thursday, the King and Queen’s horse, Desert Wind, won the King George V stakes, ridden by Tom Marquand.

The couple cheered from the Royal Box as their horse crossed the finish line, overwhelmed with emotions.

Charles was visibly emotional, with his mouth open and tears streaming down his face.

Camilla was equally lively and cheerful, pulling off a worried facial expression as the mare galloped along the final stretch.

The late Queen Elizabeth II had a well-known love of horses and was a regular attendee at Ascot, delighting crowds with her bright outfits so she could always be seen.

After her death, many of her horses were passed on to Charles and Camilla, with the King reportedly bequeathing 37 racehorses, which sold for about £1 million.

Charles hoped to follow in his mother’s footsteps, who had over 24 pageant wins during her reign.

Charles’ niece, Zara Tyndall, spoke about the bittersweet moment following the death of Queen Elizabeth last year.

She said, “It is bittersweet to think of how proud and excited the Queen is.

To have a winner for Charles and Camilla and to keep that dream alive.

And besides all that, what a race.”

Zara also spoke about the excitement of attending the annual event, saying, “Like all owners who come here and have a horse here dream that dream, having that hope and then realizing it is incredible.”

The Royals coach, William Argos, added, “They are very happy.

They have been looking forward to Ascot for a long time, it is very important to horse racing, and important for the King and Queen to enjoy.”

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the King, who later knocked out the winning trophy in all the excitement.

The Duke of Kent, a cousin of Queen Elizabeth, presented the cup to the couple.

The King later had a hand in presenting racing legend Frankie de Tauri with his ninth gold cup.

The 52-year-old Italian, who retired later this year, was awarded the famous trophy from King Charles and Queen Camilla, even placing a kiss on the cheek of the Queen.

The event was a memorable one for the British Royal Family, as King Charles and Queen Camilla claimed their first-ever win at Royal Ascot.

Despite the bittersweet moment, the couple was overwhelmed with emotions, and the win was a dream come true for them.
