Kim Kardashian Upset With Kanye West Over ‘Donda’ Event

After her presence on stage at Kanye West’s third listening event for Donda, sources close to Kim Kardashian have spoken out.

On Thursday, the 44-year-old rapper held a show at Soldier Field in Chicago to celebrate the release of his new album.

Kanye West faced criticism after inviting DaBaby and Marilyn Manson to his Chicago album listening session for Donda. With DaBaby’s homophobic outburst in the headlines and Manson being accused of sexual assault, many were furious with West for engaging them. According to E! insiders, Kim Kardashian is also “isn’t happy” with West for the same reasons.

In July, DaBaby was chastised for going on an explicit diatribe about HIV and “sucking d**k.”

According to one source, Kardashian West, who attended the listening party and appeared on stage at one point for a reenactment of her 2014 wedding to West, “missed” both Manson and DaBaby’s performances.

“She was seated inside a suite facing the back of the house on the stage so she would not have been able to see them at all from her vantage point,” a source told PEOPLE. “She wasn’t in the loop at all about what was happening at the show. She was only aware of what Kanye had asked her to do, and she was willing to help him .” Despite the fact that she missed their performances, she is believed to be upset that they were invited to the listening party at all.

According to many people close to Kardashian, Kanye’s decision to engage Manson and DaBaby caught her off guard.

Despite Kim’s dissatisfaction, Kanye is said to be understanding, according to a source: “He wants her to realize why he included them and appreciate the art form.

“Kanye wanted a reaction. He wants people talking about his album and that was the approach he was taking.”

According to a second source, she “isn’t happy” with Kanye and was only there to show her support.

“Kanye will always be family to Kim. When Kanye is doing well and is happy, it benefits the kids,” the source says. “Kim is the first one to support his visions. He asked her to be part of the listening event and she said yes without hesitation. She didn’t know that Marilyn Manson would be there too.”

“She understands why there is backlash,” the insider says. “Kim is all about positive publicity. She would have never participated if she knew Manson would be there.”

According to a third insider, Kardashian “wasn’t clued in on everything that was going to happen.” They said that several aspects of the event caught her off guard. But, in the end, she chose to carry out her part in order to “fulfill her promise.” “That doesn’t mean that she supports Marilyn Mansion or DaBaby and the things they believe,” the insider added.

Kanye’s third album listening session was hosted in Chicago, after the first two were held in Atlanta. The rapper’s album, Donda West, is titled after his late mother and chronicles numerous pivotal periods in his life, including his youth in Chicago and his marriage to Kim Kardashian, as well as their breakup.

In February, Kim, 44, filed for divorce from Kanye, 44. North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two, are the couple’s four children.

Despite her divorce from Kanye, Kim will not be deleting “West” from her name, according to a source.
