Kevin Spacey’s brother has claimed that his father was a neo-Nazi who assaulted him sexually as a youngster.

Now, as the Oscar winner is accused of attempting to seduce Star Trek’s Antony Rapp when he was 14 years old and of sexually abusing a relative of former US news presenter Heather Unruh, the truth about his own problematic background has emerged.

In a statement issued hours after the interview was published, Spacey apologized to Rapp, claiming he was “beyond horrified” by Rapp’s story and that he did not recollect the encounter.

Spacey’s elder estranged brother, Randall Fowler, 62, who lives in Idaho, told the DailyMail that his father sexually and physically tortured him for years and that his mother was aware of the situation. When Fowler questioned his mother about it years later, she “simply sat in stony silence,” according to Fowler.

And reports that his Oscar-winning brother made a sexual advance on Star Trek’s Anthony Rapp when he was 14 don’t surprise the Rod Stewart imitation.

Randall told DailyMail.com that the latest charges against his brother were “disturbing,” and that he learned of them in the early hours of Monday morning.

In the aftermath of the allegations, Spacey’s Emmy award, which he was set to receive in New York next month, was withdrawn.

House of Cards has also confirmed that show will be renewed for a sixth and final season in the wake of sexual misconduct claims. Netflix said that the decision had been in the works for a long time and had been made months ago.

He went on to declare that the narrative has inspired him to ‘address other things’ in his life, stating openly for the first time about his homosexuality and decision to live ‘as a gay man’ in a Twitter message.

Living in a ‘house of horrors’ was how Fowler described his youth.

“Neither of us had a chance growing up with two such damaged parents. I went through three marriages and 40 affairs.”

“Obviously this is not new news,” Fowler’s agent, Bonnie Soto, who is co-writing a book with him on child sex abuse, told The Sun, “but as far as this particular guy, Randy doesn’t know anything because Kevin cut himself off when he became Mr Rich Millionaire.”

But she added: “We’re not too surprised. And we know that Kevin has been in the closet for a long time.”

Thomas Geoffrey Fowler was such an unpleasant character that, according to his oldest son, he avoided having children of his own because he was afraid they would “inherit the sexual predator gene.”

“There was so much darkness in our home it was beyond belief. It was absolutely miserable,” he stated

“Kevin tried to avoid what was going on by wrapping himself in an emotional bubble. He became very sly and smart.

“He was so determined to try to avoid the whippings that he just minded his Ps and Qs until there was nothing inside. He had no feelings.”

“I constantly threatened my father that if he ever touched my brother, I would confront my mother with what was going on and that would destroy the family.”

“He unbuttoned my pants and started playing with me,” he said of the first event when he was 12 years old.

He went on to say: “All of a sudden the pounding stopped. Mum had left. I’d never felt so abandoned. Dad started to perform a sex act on me. That was the beginning of my adolescence.”

In a 2004 interview with the Daily Mail, Mr Fowler said that his father, Thomas Geoffrey Fowler, was a fanatical Nazi enthusiast and that his home was filled with Third Reich memorabilia.

In an interview with The Mail on Sunday shortly after Spacey – who was not publicly homosexual at the time – was arrested in a park in London in the early hours of the morning in March 2004, Fowler described the trauma and the toll it had on him and his siblings.

In 1964, he alleges, his mother became “disgusted” by their father after discovering he was assaulting an adolescent female relative.

Fowler also said that he tried his best to protect his brother, despite the fact that his sister Julie finally ran away from home when she was 18 years old.

Fowler said that the family would be forced to listen through their father’s dinnertime rants on white supremacy, saying that the Holocaust was a fraud, that Jews controlled banking and Hollywood, and that something called “biocrude” would destroy the globe.

His work is inspired by the terror he experienced as a child at the hands of the couple’s father.

Soto continued: “This book he has written is about the child abuse that he went through from the time he was born in this family – it’s an autobiography where he pours out his soul.

“In this family there are four major types of abuse physical, sexual, verbal and negligence and this is the experience he has gone through.

“It’s an important book as he’s the eldest brother who did a lot to try and protect his youngest brother Kevin from a lot of the things – when you’re the oldest sibling you try to do that.”
