Kevin Hart refuses to accept gay roles

Actor Kevin Hart has stated that he is unwilling to play gay characters on screen.

He emphasized that this decision is not rooted in any ill-will or disrespect towards the LGBTQ+ community but is instead due to personal insecurities he feels about being able to fully commit to a role in a same-sex relationship.

In an interview on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, Kevin shared his thoughts on the matter.

“I can’t play a gay character because of my own insecurities about the role,” he said.

“It’s not because of any ill will or disrespect towards the gay community.”

The Wedding Ringer star went on to emphasize that he holds no animosity towards the LGBTQ+ community.

“As people, I love you,” he said.

Kevin also revealed that he turned down the role of Alpa Chino in the controversial 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder.

The actor stated that the character was doing too many outrageous things in the script, causing Kevin to decline the offer.

The actor, who is engaged to model Eniko Parrish, has also expressed his disinterest in the wedding planning process.

“I don’t want to be a part of the problem,” he said. “It’s your day, honey. Be happy.”
