Keira Knightley: All women are gr0ped or sexually harassed

Keira Knightley, the 36-year-old British actor, has spoken out about the issue of sexual harassment in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

She stated that she does not know anyone who has not experienced some form of sexual harassment, whether it be being “flashed at or gr0ped, or some guy saying they’re going to slit your throat, or punching you in the face.”

Knightley added that the situation is “f*****g depressing” and that it is a universal problem.

The actor spoke about the precautions women take when walking home to ensure their safety, which she said she also does without even thinking about it.

“It was when women started listing all the precautions they take when they walk home to make sure they’re safe, and I thought, ‘I do every single one of them, and I don’t even think about it,’” she added.

Knightley’s concerns about sexual exploitation extend beyond the issue of harassment.

In a separate interview with the Financial Times, she discussed her decision not to film nude scenes anymore due to the risk of them being leaked on the internet.

She explained that “the nipples droop” as one gets older and that she does not feel comfortable doing scenes that could end up on a porn site.

“I always felt completely comfortable doing it when I was younger.

I never did anything that I didn’t feel comfortable doing.

I’m really happy with my body.

It’s done an amazing thing. But I also don’t want to stand there in front of a whole film crew,” she said.

Knightley also spoke about how the portrayal of sex in movies has changed over time.

“It used to be that you’d do a sex scene in isolation with the film, and it would make sense.

And maybe a crappy paper would put it somewhere but, ultimately, that would be it.

But now, you can take the whole thing and put it in a completely different thing, and it’s on some porn site,” she explained.

In an interview with Chanel Connects podcast, Knightley elaborated on her discomfort with portraying the male gaze. She said,

“I feel very uncomfortable now trying to portray the male gaze.

Saying that, there are times where I go, ‘Yeah, I completely see where this sex would be really good in this film and you basically just need somebody to look hot’.”

In her interviews, Knightley has highlighted the difficulties faced by women in the entertainment industry and beyond.

She emphasized that the problem of sexual harassment is not exclusive to the film industry and that it is a universal issue.

Knightley stated that the only way to change the situation is to “keep on talking about it” and to keep pushing for change.

Knightley also spoke about how having children has impacted her professional life.

She explained that she now only accepts roles that are within school hours, and that she has become more selective about the projects she works on. “When you have a child, your job changes because it’s not just about you anymore.

It’s about them as well. And you become very aware of how much of your life you’re taking away from them,” she said.

Despite the challenges she faces as a working mother, Knightley remains passionate about her career. “I love acting, I absolutely love it.

I love the film sets. I love the rehearsals. I love the adrenaline. I love the uncertainty,” she said.

In addition to her career in acting, Knightley is an active campaigner for various causes.

She has been a vocal advocate for gender equality and has worked with charities such as Women’s Aid and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Knightley has also spoken about her struggles with mental health. In a 2018 interview with The Guardian, she discussed her

“I was aware of the pressure and the attention, but I didn’t know what to do with it,” she said. “I didn’t know how to process it. I didn’t have the tools.”

In the same interview, Knightley also addressed the issue of pay inequality in Hollywood.

She revealed that she has been paid significantly less than her male co-stars on several occasions, despite having equal or even larger roles.

“I knew I was being paid less and I still agreed to do it because the option was not to do it,” she said. “It’s a really difficult decision.”

Knightley’s activism extends beyond the entertainment industry.

She has been involved in political campaigns and has spoken out against Brexit, describing it as a “mistake” in a 2019 interview with The Guardian.

She has also been a vocal supporter of environmental causes, and in 2019, she became an ambassador for the charity WaterAid.

Despite the challenges she faces, Knightley remains a respected and influential figure in the entertainment industry.

She has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including two Academy Award nominations, and has been praised for her performances in films such as Atonement and The Imitation Game.

As an actor and activist, Knightley has used her platform to advocate for change and to raise awareness of important issues.

She has spoken openly about her own experiences and has encouraged others to do the same, in the hopes of creating a more just and equitable society.

In a world where sexual harassment, exploitation, and inequality continue to be pervasive issues, Knightley’s voice is an important one.

By speaking out and raising awareness, she is helping to pave the way for a brighter and more equal future for all.
