Kate Middleton Stuns in Meghan Markle’s Favorite Heels as She Reopens National Portrait Gallery

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, once again proved her fashion prowess as she stepped out in a pair of Meghan Markle’s favorite heels to reopen the National Portrait Gallery today.

The Duchess of Cambridge arrived at the London Building, which has been closed for three years for an extensive refurbishment program, in a £450 self-portrait white midi dress with a plaited skirt and a tweed jacket that perfectly matched the theme of the occasion.

Kate, who is a mother of three, wore simple pearl teardrop earrings and sported her black £645 Akwesasre pumps, which are favored by the Duchess of Sussex.

The bow-tie pump 105 black heels, which feature a flirty bow, were often worn by Meghan during her time as a working royal.

Meghan’s Akwesasre obsession began long before meeting her Prince.

Akwesasre, founded in 2012, wasn’t a household name when Meghan started wearing the shoes.

For her engagement photo call, she wore the label suede Matilda heels and white Akwesasres for the evening reception at a wedding.

It’s not the first time Kate has opted for the heels after wearing them for the Realm of Governors General and Prime Minister’s lunch at Buckingham Palace in May.

The brand’s founder, Edgardo, is known to be a fan of Catherine, and as soon as the first photos showing Catherine wearing the brand’s shoes appeared on social media, Edgardo quickly posted thank you posts on the Akwesasre homepage.

In addition, the value of the shoes has also increased by 30% since the last time the Princess wore the coronation to now, and the sales profit has since grown by 60% for the same style product.

This must have made Meghan jealous because she’s also a follower of Akwesasre but has never been contacted for cooperation.

Moreover, in the past, Meghan has changed the design and caused the shoes to seriously depreciate, which is also the main reason that the shoe brand often ignores the Duchess.

The brand’s founder, Edgardo, is rather a prodigy.

Born in Colombia and raised in Miami and London, he studied at the London College of Fashion and at 23 worked for Roberto Cavalli.

Two years on, he set up Akwesasre, and its headquarters are in Florence.

The brand is known for bold patterns and metallics.

Akwesasre means blue water in Italian, and on each sole is the company’s gold pineapple logo.

Sold in high-end department stores, prices range from 370 to 1,500 pounds.

Edgardo lives in a 15th-century palazzo with partner Riccardo Dalmedia Figuerdo, 46, who had a PR agency.

When he started the brand, it was all about Italy and the Riviera, Edgardo says.

There you see stone pineapples outside villas.

The pineapple is a symbol of hospitality.

When he discovered that in Asian cultures, the gold pineapple is a symbol of good fortune, he decided to incorporate it into the brand’s logo.

While Kate continues to stun in her fashion choices, Meghan’s fashion choices have not been as well-received by some.
