Julianne Moore on getting comfortable with n^dty at 58 in ‘Gloria Bell’: ‘You don’t’

Julianne Moore is advocating for a change in the way people talk about aging.

She believes that it is a privilege to age, but society often treats it as something negative.

The actress, who is 58 years old, saw a clip of TV star Luke Perry discussing playing a grandfather on CW’s “Riverdale” before his unexpected death at 52 from a stroke.

This made her more interested in talking about the journey of life, where one can go, and how they can grow.

Moore plays the title character in the film “Gloria Bell,” which is a shot-for-shot remake of Sebastian Lelio’s 2013 Chilean drama “Gloria.”

Her character is a fiftysomething divorcee searching for love at L.A. dance clubs while looking after her adult children and new grandson.

She begins a passionate courtship with Arnold (John Turturro), whose unscrupulous behavior briefly sends her on a downward spiral of reckless partying and hookups, and then back on the path to self-discovery.

Moore, who is also an executive producer, was drawn to Lelio’s nuanced portrayal of a middle-aged woman.

She has earned Oscar nominations for playing similarly complicated characters in movies like 2002’s “Far From Heaven” and “The Hours,” and 2014’s “Still Alice,” for which she won the Best Actress award.

She says that seeing movies that tell stories about characters who are not always the center of a traditional Hollywood narrative is exciting because you get to see people that you may know in your ordinary life.

However, “Gloria Bell” forced Moore to step out of her comfort zone since she appears n^de in a handful of scenes, some of them s**ual.

This made her uncomfortable as no one ever becomes comfortable with nudity.

They were very specific about it, only using it when necessary to lend it a level of reality.

Moore says that if they suddenly covered her up, viewers would be taken out of the story.

Moore also had to shoot a paintball gun in an empowering scene of demented revenge and dance with abandon to disco hits by Anita Ward and Earth, Wind & Fire.

She found dancing terrifying since she is not a natural dancer, but Turturro is an expert salsa dancer who helped teach her a few moves.

Like Gloria, Moore is always willing to dive headfirst into new experiences.

She hopes to one day build a house and do the interior design from top to bottom and take an extended vacation to Asia with her husband, director Bart Freundlich, and their children Caleb and Liv.

However, she will have to put those plans on hold for now as she prepares to play feminist icon Gloria Steinem in “The Glorias: A Life on the Road,” which is currently shooting in Savannah, Georgia.

It’s amusing to her how many characters are named Gloria as she got to learn how to dance for one film and learn all about Gloria Steinem for the other.

In conclusion, Julianne Moore believes that aging is a privilege that should be celebrated rather than diminished.

She portrays a middle-aged woman in “Gloria Bell” who is searching for love while dealing with everyday struggles.

The actress was forced to step out of her comfort zone for some n^de scenes, but it was necessary to lend the film a level of reality.

She is always willing to dive headfirst into new experiences and has plans to build a house and travel with her family.

Currently, she is playing Gloria Steinem in a new film.
