Johnny Depp’s Daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, Shares Support for Her Father After Standing Ovation at 2023 Cant’s Film Festival
Johnny Depp was met with a standing ovation at the opening night of the 2023 Cant’s Film Festival on May 16, where his biographical drama Jeanne du Barry was premiered.
His daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, expressed her excitement and happiness for her father’s success in a recent virtual interview with ET from the south of France.
“I’m super happy for him.
I’m super excited,” said the 23-year-old actress.
“And it’s so awesome that we get to do projects that we’re super proud of.”

The 59-year-old actor arrived at the prestigious film festival a year after his highly-publicised defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Despite his past controversies, Depp’s spirits have been lifted, according to a source who recently spoke to PEOPLE.
“He really enjoys working and touring again.
He has managed to turn his life around,” the source said.
“He is prioritising his health and work.
Everyone is excited about how he turned things around.
He is much happier too.”
As for Lily-Rose, the Chanel model is also making waves at the Cant’s Film Festival with her HBO series, The Idol.
The series, starring Abel Tesfaye (also known as The Weakened) and directed by Sam Levinson, premiered on Monday.
Before watching it with an audience, Lily-Rose said the feeling was incredible and that it was a beautiful process creating the show with her colleagues.
“It was the first time that I had watched it with an audience outside of like, myself and Sam and Ashley and Abel, which is just kind of how I watched the first couple episodes,” she said.
“But it was incredible.
It felt like such a beautiful celebration and a culmination of everything that we’ve been through together, and just kind of a beautiful process that was in the show, and creating this little family together, and it just felt really, really nice.”
The actress was thrilled to celebrate with her colleagues and expressed her happiness for the positive response from the audience.
“It felt really nice to watch the reaction and everything, and finally get to share something with the world that we’re all so proud of,” she said.
Despite the ups and downs of his career, Johnny Depp’s recent success at the Cant’s Film Festival has shown that he is still a force to be reckoned with in the film industry.
With the support of his daughter and the positive response from audiences, it seems that Depp’s career is back on track.
