Johnny Depp says Amber Heard of ‘punched him and severed his finger’

Amber Heard allegedly attacked Johnny Depp and severed his finger in a series of rows, according to Depp.

On Tuesday, Depp started the first day of his libel case against The Sun’s publisher, News Group Newspapers (NGN), and executive editor Dan Wooton, over an April 2018 article in which the tabloid called him a “wife beater” and referred to “overwhelming evidence” that he assaulted Heard during their relationship.

Claims that he subjected her to “torture and other abuse” were called “sick” and “completely untrue” by the Hollywood actor.

Mr. Depp said that he did not have an “overbearing, manipulative, or controlling personality,” and that Ms. Heard had an “obsessive need” to dominate him.

‘Rage-filled violent incidents on planes were typical with Amber,’ Depp alleged in one of his witness statements filed as part of his libel action.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star then went on to describe an alleged incident aboard a chartered aircraft in late 2014 or early 2015, during which he claims she called him a “pussy” and “spineless” for “running away” from a dispute with her.

“Then she became physically violent and repeatedly punched me in the face. As I moved towards the back of the plane to get away from her, she followed me into the plane’s bedroom and punched me again in the face and the head.

“I pushed her away from me, onto the bed. I then grabbed a pillow and locked myself in the bathroom, where I slept for the duration of the flight,” he wrote in his statement.

Mr Depp detailed a moment in March 2015 in Australia when he claims Ms Heard cut his finger, an injury she claims occurred after he slammed a phone against a wall.

‘Amber severed my finger with the second of two thrown vodka bottles at me in the early afternoon of Sunday March 8. Amber claims this was on the second day of a “three-day hostage situation”,’ he said.

‘Amber claims that during these three days, I subjected her to a variety of what sounds like torture and other abuse. These sick claims are completely untrue.

Instead, Depp has claimed that Heard received no injuries during the time she recounted, while he had “grievous” injuries such as a severed finger and a cigarette stubbed out on his face.

“As to the other ‘details’ which Amber has now added, I did not urinate throughout the house, I did not paint Amber’s clothes, nor did I hide raw meat around the house,” he added.

“There was an incident once where Amber lied to me about Billy Bob Thornton, so I wrote his name,” Mr Depp admitted writing on a mirror and walls in blood and paint.

‘I do not believe that I have an overbearing, manipulative or controlling personality, or that anyone who knows me well would describe me that way,’ he said in his statement in response to claims of overbearing behavior.

‘In contrast, I believe that Amber had an obsessive need to control me and all situations in our relationship.

‘I truly believe that most of the descriptions Amber provides are in fact reflections of her own behaviour.’

Depp is suing NGN and Dan Wootton for an April 2018 article titled “Gone Potty: How can JK Rowling be ‘genuinely happy’ casting wife beater Johnny Depp in the new Fantastic Beasts film?”

During their three-year relationship, Depp was “controlling, verbally and physically abusive towards Ms Heard, particularly when he was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs,” according to NGN.
