Jessica Chastain prefers being n-ked on camera to singing

Jessica Chastain’s recent film, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, has been a massive success, with rave reviews showering in for her performance.

The actress is no stranger to taking on challenging roles, but there is one thing she is not willing to compromise on – singing.

In a recent interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show, Chastain revealed that she would “rather do full n^dty than sing” on camera.

Chastain attended the prestigious Juilliard School under a scholarship granted by Robin Williams.

During her first year, she suffered from anxiety, which made it difficult for her to thrive.

However, the production of The Seagull in her second year helped boost her confidence.

After graduating from Juilliard, Chastain signed on to a talent holding deal that forced her to move to Los Angeles.

Finding work proved to be a challenge, and she made her television debut in the pilot of Dark Shadows in 2004 as Carolyn Stoddard.

Unfortunately, the WB did not pick up the series.

Her next role in the medical drama ER led her to get typecast as a patient with mental illnesses and accident victims.

However, she made several guest appearances in projects like Veronica Mars, Blackbeard, and Close to Home.

In 2008, Chastain landed the title role in the drama Jolene, based on Dolly Parton’s song of the same name.

Her performance received critical acclaim, earning her raving reviews from critics.

In 2011, Chastain appeared in six films, including Take Shelter, The Tree of Life, starring opposite Sean Penn and Brad Pitt.

She gained international recognition for her role in The Help, which earned her an Academy Award nomination.

In 2012, Chastain was named one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in The World.

In 2013, she won a Golden Globe award and another Academy Award nomination for her role in Zero Dark Thirty.

Chastain has had many commercially successful roles, including It: Chapter Two and Interstellar, as well as steady performances in dramas such as Molly’s Game and A Most Violent Year.

Her latest performance in The Eyes of Tammy Faye has also earned her critical acclaim.

During her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the host complimented Chastain on her singing voice.

However, the actress admitted that she was not a fan of singing on camera and would rather do full n^dty than sing a song.

She noted that her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye challenged her, as the real-life Tammy Faye “was so confident from the first note,” saying it was “beyond anything I’ve ever been comfortable with.”

Playing Tammy Faye required Chastain to step out of her comfort zone and put aside her qualms to portray the character effectively.

But it won’t be the last time viewers hear her vocals, as Chastain will be playing country singer Tammy Wynette in the upcoming TV series George and Tammy.

She revealed that they have 30 songs to sing and mentioned that she would be “drinking a lot of bourbon” to get over her nerves.

Buzzfeed reports that Chastain has been working with a vocal coach since March 2021.

Jessica Chastain has come a long way from her days as an anxiety-stricken student at Juilliard.

Her talent and hard work have paid off, earning her critical acclaim and commercial success.

While she may not be a fan of singing on camera, she is always willing to push herself out of her comfort zone to deliver a great performance.
