Jennifer Lopez says a director ‘asked to see my b**bs’

Jennifer Lopez, the renowned actress who starred in the movie “Hustlers,” credited her upbringing in New York City for empowering her to stand up against s**ual harassment in the film industry.

In a recent roundtable discussion hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, Lopez shared a personal experience of a director requesting her to remove her top in an off-set and intimate setting before shooting a n/dity scene.

During the roundtable, Lopez spoke candidly about the director’s request, saying, “He wanted to see my boobs, and I was like, ‘We’re not on-set.'” She shared this experience with her fellow actresses, including Laura Dern, Scarlett Johansson, Renee Zellweger, Awkwafina, and Lupita Nyong’o, all of whom have been vocal about the #MeToo movement since it took off in 2017.

Lopez noted that there was another woman present in the room, which made her question whether the request was professional.

Although the female costume designer remained quiet, Lopez used her “Jenny from the Block” attitude to push back.

“Luckily, a little bit of the Bronx came out, and I was like, ‘I don’t have to show you my — no. On the set, you see them,'” she said.

When asked by Johansson about the director’s name, Lopez chose not to disclose the person or the movie’s name, opting to focus on the broader issue of s**ual harassment in the film industry.

She emphasized the importance of taking action against such behavior, saying, “We have to teach our kids, and not just our girls, that they have the right to say no, that they have the right to be respected and to be heard.”

Lopez also shared her experience working on “Hustlers,” where the production used a comfort coach who was well-versed in the industry’s world.

According to Lopez, the comfort coach helped the actors understand what is acceptable and unacceptable on set.

She said, “They are basically somebody who understood that world and said, ‘These things are OK,’ and, ‘These things are not OK.'”

Lopez’s experience is not unique, as many actresses have spoken out against s**ual harassment in the film industry.

Lopez’s courage to speak out against harassment has earned her praise from her colleagues.

Awkwafina, who starred alongside Lopez in “Hustlers,” said, “I really appreciated you sharing that because that’s real.” Scarlett Johansson added, “It’s so important to have that voice and that power, and you’re a great example of that.”

The actresses also discussed the importance of women supporting other women in the industry.

Lupita Nyong’o emphasized the significance of female solidarity, saying, “We need to have each other’s backs because we are in a male-dominated industry.”
