James McAvoy sexually harassed his own sister
Actor James McAvoy has revealed that he was surprised to learn that his sister, Joy McAvoy, had been cast in the same movie as him.
The film, an adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s 1998 novel, includes a scene in which James’s character sexually harasses Joy’s character.
Speaking about the experience, James said, “Not in my wildest dreams did I think my sister and I would be doing the same job, let alone sharing a screen, let alone me sexually harassing her!”
James, who is 34 years old, said that he was initially hesitant about taking on the role because he was a fan of Welsh’s work and didn’t want to ruin it. “When I heard the original book was by Irvine I wasn’t certain about it all,” he said. “I love his work and I just thought: ‘I don’t want to f*** it up.'”
Despite the potentially uncomfortable situation of filming a scene in which he had to sexually harass his sister, James said that the hardest part was trying to keep a straight face.

“Thankfully, I didn’t have to kiss her or touch her or anything like that,” he said. “But it was a wee bit weird. It was hard because I couldn’t stop laughing. And I was the one doing the bad stuff. I was like, uglh…”
The film, which has not yet been named, is an adaptation of Welsh’s novel. It tells the story of a group of people living in a dystopian future and focuses on their relationships with each other. James and Joy’s characters are siblings, but their exact roles in the story have not been revealed.
Despite the potentially awkward nature of the scene between James and Joy, the actor said that he was grateful for the opportunity to work with his sister.
“It was a great experience,” he said. “I’ve always been proud of Joy and her acting ability, so it was really cool to be able to share a screen with her.”
It is not clear when the film will be released or who else will be starring in it. James McAvoy is best known for his roles in the “X-Men” franchise and the thriller “Split.”
Joy McAvoy has also appeared in a number of films and television shows, including “Under the Skin” and “Outlander.”
