Jaden Smith Blasted for Wearing Oxygen Mask to Kendall Jenner’s Halloween Party during pandemic: ‘Beyond disgusted’

Jaden Smith showed up to a Costume party wearing the wrong sort of mask.

The 22-year-old actor attended Jenner’s 25th birthday party on Saturday with an oxygen mask as part of his costume, amid the continuing coronavirus outbreak.

“There’s just something so inhumane about Jaden Smith wearing an oxygen mask as a costume,” one Twitter user said, beside a photo of Smith at the party. Smith hasn’t tweeted any images from the event, but he did post a picture from Tenet on Monday morning, which appeared to hint that’s where his outfit originated from. “We Live In A Twilight World,” he captioned it. However, given that many fans were unable to watch Tenet in cinemas because to the coronavirus outbreak, they claimed that this was still a negative look for Smith in any case.

Many more fans expressed their surprise at Jaden’s choice of outfit. One said they couldn’t believe it was Jaden.

“Not jaden smith dressing up as a covid patient for halloween. apart from attending that kendall jenner party, he’s making fun of the situation,” said another Twitter user. “my mom and my aunt are ashmatic, and they were rushed to the hospital with oxygen many times. i’m beyond disgusted.”

“Why is no one calling out Jaden Smith for being an absolute idiot &thinking wearing an oxygen mask as a costume was cute,” said another.

“It’s still tone deaf,” said the third individual. “He could’ve literally picked ANY other costume and stayed [the f—] HOME.”

A fan also envisioned what individuals in such circumstance might think. Another reader said it was awful that celebrities or other rich individuals went to parties and flaunted their wealth to everyone else, and that such an attitude was tone-deaf.

However, a small number of people rose to the rapper’s defense.

“Can we all remeber [sic] this is a 22 year old young adult,” one tweeted. “Do we honestly think most adults his age where [sic] staying home. Hell no. So lets [sic] put what’s probably facts in perspective.”

Smith has avoided explicitly addressing the topic because he was not permitted to – according to TMZ, the invitation to the party specifically advised guests not to “not post on social media of any kind.” If Jenner anticipated a public backlash in response to such tweets, she was right, as fans across the world are outraged with her and the other celebrities that went.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the event was conducted tonight in Los Angeles, and everyone in attendance had to test negative for COVID-19 before being let in.
