Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was a woman who was no stranger to scandal and drama, especially when it came to her husband’s rumored infidelities.

However, even she was taken aback when she discovered that her therapist had once treated Marilyn Monroe, one of the women rumored to have had an affair with JFK.

According to a new biography by J. Randy Taraborrelli, Jackie, Public, Private, Secret, Jackie began seeing psychoanalyst Dr. Marianne Criss in the early 70s, during a tumultuous marriage to Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis.

During her sessions with Dr. Criss, Jackie addressed her ongoing PTSD over JFK’s assassination, as well as issues in her marriage.

However, things took a surprising turn when Jackie learned that Dr. Criss had once treated Monroe.

Patricia Atwood, Dr. Criss’ secretary from 1972 to 1974, revealed that while Dr. Criss never discussed her patients, she did write notes about her sessions with Jackie.

When Jackie confronted her about treating Monroe, Dr. Criss responded that she felt no obligation to inform her about former patients, just as she would never reveal that she had treated Jackie.

This revelation was particularly relevant given the rumors surrounding Monroe’s alleged affair with JFK.

Monroe’s sultry “Happy Birthday” performance for JFK at Madison Square Garden in 1962 only fueled speculation about their relationship.

In the years that followed, rumors of Monroe’s affairs with both JFK and his brother Robert F. Kennedy have been explored in countless news reports, books, and interviews.

Despite the drama surrounding her personal life, Jackie remained a private person until her death in 1994.

She married Maurice Templesman after her marriage to Onassis ended, and kept her personal life out of the public eye as much as possible.

The news of Jackie’s discovery about her therapist’s connection to Monroe is just one more chapter in the ongoing saga of the Kennedy family’s scandals and secrets.

Despite the passage of time, the public remains fascinated by the lives of JFK and his family, and the rumors and mysteries that continue to surround them.

In the end, Jackie’s story serves as a reminder that even those who seem to have it all can struggle with personal demons and private pain.

While she may be remembered as an icon of grace and elegance, she was also a human being with her own share of struggles and heartache.
