It took six men to carry Mariah Carey’s 70lb gown’s train

Mariah Carey has caused a stir after revealing that she needed six men to carry the train of her 70lb gown during the filming of her Christmas special.

The singer, who has been plagued with rumors of diva-like behavior throughout her career, appeared on the show “Lorraine” and admitted that the glamorous dress she wore for the upcoming Apple TV+ special weighed between 60 and 70 pounds.

“You want to laugh? It required six grown men to carry the train of that dress to get me down the stairs. It weighed 60-70 pounds!” Carey joked to the presenter.

The singer also showed her sense of humor when asked if she always has six men helping her, Carey replied, “Sometimes it’s five, sometimes it’s six – it depends on the beading.”

Carey’s diva demands have caused her to be dropped from projects in the past.

In 2017, her cameo in the movie “The House” was scrapped after co-star Will Ferrell confirmed claims made against her.

Ferrell revealed that Carey was four hours late to set and that he was told to go home before she even arrived.

“At 11pm there was a knock on my trailer door and they said you can go home,” Ferrell told host Andy Cohen.

“I got in my car and left everyone on set and it didn’t happen.”

Cohen also asked Ferrell about the script notes Carey had made for her small part in the movie.

Ferrell replied, “One script note was like, ‘I don’t want to do this scene,’ even though it was totally approved at the time.”

Ferrell also revealed that Carey didn’t want to sing the song that had been agreed upon for her to perform, something that’s not easy to change on the day of a shoot.

“She’d rather sing something else, which is hard with clearance and became quite a kerfuffle,” Ferrell said, “AKA s**t storm.”

The comedian also confirmed reports that Carey insisted on her trailer being filled with stuffed lambs, a reference to her fans which she calls ‘lambily.’

This is not the first time Carey has been associated with diva-like behavior. She has been known to bathe in milk and reportedly turn up to events up to four hours late.

Despite the rumors, Carey’s fans continue to love her.

Her Christmas special “Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues” will be airing on Apple TV+ soon and is expected to be a hit.

The singer’s talent and showmanship have never been in question and Carey continues to be one of the most successful and beloved artists in the industry.
