“I floated, I was so afraid”: Bryce Dallas Howard Fainted After Multiple Painful Takes of a Scary Stunt in $1.6 B ‘Jurassic World’

Bryce Dallas Howard, a renowned American actress-director, has revealed that she fainted on the set of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom due to fear.

The film was released in 2018 and was full of thrilling stunts and heart-pounding action scenes.

One of these scenes was so terrifying for Howard that she blacked out.

During the filming of this particular scene, director JA Bayona wanted Howard’s reaction to be as realistic as possible.

So, he built a roller-coaster and had her go through several painful takes.

Howard recalled that she was so afraid that with each take, her panic increased substantially.

By the fifth or sixth take, she blacked out.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Howard shared her experience of filming the scene.

She said that Bayona built a rollercoaster so that they could experience zero g, zero gravity.

They would fall faster than gravity or something.

Howard, who is scared of rollercoasters, was terrified.

During one of the takes, she fainted.

The scene involved Howard and her co-star, Justice Smith, participating in the filming of a scene in which a gyrosphere tumbled off a cliff.

Since cliff diving in a gyrosphere was too risky, a roller coaster was built so that Howard and Smith could experience the real sensation of falling.

Despite collapsing, Howard willingly filmed the stunt.

In an interview with The Wrap, Howard admitted that she was too afraid to try the rollercoaster stunt, but she did it anyway.

She claimed that the zero-gravity stuff did not get any simpler despite multiple attempts at being filmed, and at one point, it even caused her to faint.

Howard also experienced claustrophobia while filming the scene, despite months of physically taxing preparation, including scuba diving.

Getting to train for that in advance minimized the challenge.

She stated that if you panic underwater, it’s over, you’re done.

Howard’s character in the movie often engaged in perilous action scenes.

However, something went wrong while they were filming one particular scene, which caused the actress to become utterly terrified.

Howard insisted that she was grateful for the chance to return to the Jurassic Park series and the entire action-movie experience.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is available on Prime Video.
