Heather Graham says Boogie Nights n^de scene was ‘terrifying’ but she thought ‘beggars can’t be choosers’

Heather Graham, who played Rollergirl in the acclaimed 1997 film Boogie Nights, admitted that she was petrified to shoot her n^de scene but felt that she had no other choice at the time.

Despite being nervous, Graham recognized that the script was excellent and that Paul Thomas Anderson was an incredible talent.

She said, “Beggars can’t be choosers.”

Even though doing the n^de scene was terrifying, she enjoyed making the movie.

Boogie Nights is about a high school dropout named Eddie Adams, played by Mark Wahlberg, who becomes Dirk Diggler, a successful p^rn star.

Alongside Graham and Wahlberg, Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, Don Cheadle, John C. Reilly, and Philip Seymour Hoffman starred as various celebrities and adult-film cast and crew members who are all immersed in the s**, drugs, and Hollywood debauchery of the 1970s and ’80s.

While Wahlberg also participated in a n^de scene, Graham explained that their experiences were vastly different.

She mentioned that he wore a fake p-nis, which made it distinct from her experience.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Graham spoke about the impact of sexism on the film industry.

She noted that films from the 1980s, in particular, were harmful.

People didn’t comment on it at the time, and they believed they were progressive, but now we realize how sexist it was.

Graham is glad that our culture is evolving.

She doesn’t believe that Hollywood has changed dramatically, even now.

More people care, but it isn’t equal.

It’s still relatively sexist.

All of the phases of the industry, including financing, distribution, and reviewers, are mostly male-dominated.

It’s tough to get a female-driven story that appeals primarily to women through all of these layers of male-dominated business.

Hollywood’s prioritization of male stories affected Graham’s self-worth.

She felt like a supporting character in a man’s story and was always wondering how she could please someone else.

Her goal has been to become more focused on what she wants and go after that.

Graham stars in On a Wing and a Prayer, which is now available on Prime Video.
