Halle Berry Shares Her Skin Care Routine In A No-Makeup Video

Actress Halle Berry has already shown that she is ageless. In fact, at 54, she could have even better skin than she had in her twenties.

Every week, Halle Berry and her personal trainer Peter Lee Thomas use the hashtag #FitnessFriday to offer new fitness ideas to her Instagram followers. However, the requirement for social isolation as a result of the coronavirus outbreak has kept her away from the gym recently. Instead, she opted to disclose her four-step skincare routine on March 20.

“A little look into my cleansing routine with one of my all time favorite skincare tools from @flawlessbeauty,” she captioned a short video she shared on Instagram this week.

“Welcome back to another #FitnessFriday Quarantine Edition. To all those practicing #SocialDistancing, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the duty you are serving to your community. Things have been especially crazy, and self-care is an absolute essential right now,” she captioned an Instagram TV video. “Hope that y’all can participate and really enjoy that extra time to comfort and pamper yourself. You absolutely deserve it.”

Halle talks about how much she loves the Flawless Cleanse Hydro-Vibrating Facial Cleanser, which contains “soft, soft” silicone brushes and a vibrating motor to make your face very clean, according to the video. “It actually helps the dirt and oil become dislodged…at the same time, it protects your skin,” she explains, before adding that it’s “stinking cute.”

Berry’s skincare routine consists of only four products: a cleanser, an exfoliating scrub, a mask, and a serum. “Skincare has been a big part of my regime since I was 16 years old. I do it twice a day religiously and never miss a day,” she explained in the video.

“Many of you have asked me over the years, ‘what is the actual routine? Share it!’ So, guess what: today I’m going to share it!”

She taped the routine right after she got out of the shower, in her bathroom. The entire video is just under six minutes long, and Berry did it all one-handed while filming it on her phone, so it’s perfectly doable for you.

The actress began her skincare routine with a cleanser, namely an Olga Lorencin cleanser.

“Cleansing is really important; you can’t miss it. You gotta do it morning and you have to do it at night, and it has to really become a part of your day,” she explained.

She also emphasizes the need of massaging in upward motions. “This is gonna serve you well as the years go by,” she adds.

After that, she dampens the vibrating cleaner and applies her scrub on top. She then applies it on her face while setting it to a high vibration. Halle exclaims as she cleans, “This feels so good…so stinking good, and it’s so gentle. It’s like giving your face a hug.” She gradually reduces the power till she reaches the lowest setting. Finally, she uses a warm washcloth to rinse away her cleanser.

Ole Henriksen follows with a light scrape. Berry rubs the ointment down his neck again, saying, “I really like it, it’s very eucalyptus-y. I’ve used it for a very long time.”

“It’s very eucalyptus-y,” she says as she rubs it onto her skin. “You do it until you feel like all that dead skin has gone bye-bye.”

Berry’s long-time skincare mainstay, the $28 product, combines lactic acid, glycolic acid, and volcanic sand. “Over the years, I’ve tried a lot of [scrubs],” she adds. “And it constantly stays my favorite.”

“Boom. You have a healthy amount of blood flow to your face, a nice shine to it, and healthy-looking skin,” she concludes.

Skinceuticals’ moisturizing face mask is the third step. Berry loves to do this while using a moisturizing mask like Skinceuticals’ Hydrating B5 Masque. “I feel like it wakes up my skin cells. It just feels better. It feels refreshing,” she says while bouncing her face with her fingers. “Today I’m using a super hydration mask,” she adds.

“In the winter months I like to use hydration much more than clay. Clay can be quite drying, at least for my skin,” she said. “I literally slap it on like this. I feel like it wakes up the skin cells, it feels refreshing.”

She ends the video with a positive advise in the hopes of encouraging her fans who are experiencing self-isolation. “Enjoy this quarantine time to the best of your ability,” she says. “Use it to do things that you don’t usually get to do because we’re so busy in our everyday lives.”

Halle does a lot more than that to keep her skin looking great. Extra said that the Catwoman actress enjoys bone broth.  “It’s so full of collagen that it’s crazy,” she said. She also focuses on living a clean lifestyle, telling InStyle that she doesn’t smoke or drink. “I think a lot of how you look is about how you live,” she said. “I’ve never smoked or indulged in alcohol or drugs. Those are things that show up on your face over the years.”
