First Look at Chloë Grace Moretz in ‘Mother/Android’
Hulu has published the first trailer for “Mother/Android,” a sci-fi film starring Chloë Grace Moretz and Algee Smith. Mattson Tomlin, the author of “Project Power” and “The Batman,” makes his feature directorial debut with the new picture, which premieres on Friday, December 17.
Moretz, who is most known for her appearances in the Kick-Ass franchise, Carrie, and Greta, will play Georgia, a pregnant woman on the run with her lover Sam, played by Smith (Detroit, Euphoria), to flee their nation, which is now engulfed in an unforeseeable artificial intelligence war. The couple is only a few days away from giving birth to their first child, and they must navigate No Man’s Land — the stronghold at the heart of the android revolt – to get to safety. Ral Castillo will also appear in the film, which is set in the not-too-distant future (Atypical).
Tomlin, who graduated from the American Film Institute in 2014, has long been seen as a rising star. The emerging director is riding high on the success of “Project Power,” which premiered on Netflix last year and starred Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Dominique Fishback, and fans are looking forward to his next feature, “The Batman,” which is set to enter theaters on March 4, 2022.
The Batman and War for the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves produced through 6th & Idaho Productions with Adam Kassan and Rafi Crohn (Ordinary Joe, Away, Tales from the Loop), along with Miramax’s Bill Block (Halloween Kills, Uncle Frank), and Charles Miller (The Trial of the Chicago 7, Worth).
