Emma Watson was asked if she is a lesbian now

Emma Watson has spoken out about how she dealt with the negative reactions to her radical pixie hair cut last year.

Emma has always loved her short hair, as she explained previously: “I think it’s made me more bold, there’s no way to hide when you have short hair.”

However, when she chopped off her long locks, instead of receiving compliments, she said that it made some people wonder whether she was a lesbian.

“I had journalists asking me if [my haircut] meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now,” Watson said, rolling her eyes.

“That haircut did make me realise how subjective everyone’s opinion is. Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I’d lost my shit. All I can do is follow my instincts, because I’ll never please everyone.”

But she continues to challenge the critics. The 21-year-old Oxford student, who is presently the face of Lancome, believes her new hair has given her a new feeling of confidence:

“As I’ve got older, and since I cut all my hair off, I’ve felt a bit more liberated about trying different things out.”

Watson, who turns 22 in April, played Hermoine Granger in the first Harry Potter film in 2001 and went on to star in seven more chapters, ending in the last film released last summer, with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

My Week With Marilyn enlisted her as a wardrobe assistant on the set of a Monroe film (portrayed by Williams).

Emma Watson’s next film will be The Perks of Being a Wallflower, in which she will co-star with Logan Lerman.
