Emilia Clarke says she ‘can’t stand’ sex scenes

Emilia Clarke has disrobed several times for the sake of her craft as the star of the ‘sex and dragons’ epic Game Of Thrones.

However, the actress has recently stated that she cringes when she views such sequences on TV.

Clarke, who is 28 years old, told the Daily Mail:

“I don’t want to have sex thrown in my face and I’ve always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself.”

She went on to remark that most sex scenes are “gratuitous” and unnecessary, adding:

“Most sex scenes you see in films or on TV are gratuitous and they’re usually just to attract an audience. On screen, the subtler the better.”

“I’m British, so I cringe at that sort of thing anyway. I can’t stand it,” she says.

Oona Chaplin, Clarke’s former Game of Thrones co-star, revealed two years ago that “one of the girls” on the show, popularly assumed to be Clarke, refused to strip off after the first two seasons.

“[She] got her kit off the most in the first couple of seasons [and] now doesn’t at all because she said, ‘I want to be known for my acting, not for my breasts’,” Chaplin added.

“I’m really comfortable getting my kit off, so – if they want to, I’m like, ‘Yeah, bring it, I’m naked, no problem’.”

Emilia’s wishes, however, do not appear to be coming true anytime soon, as the famed thespian recently stated that the record-breaking drama is poised to go even farther with its notoriously brutal nature than ever before.

After getting an early peek at the scripts, the stunning actress warned that when the fantasy blockbuster returns in 2016 for its sixth season, viewers won’t know what hit them.

“I’ve seen some of the new scripts and I’m like a kid on a sugar high.” Emilia taunted, “I can’t handle how sick some of them are.”

“We’re just going to hit the audience with every episode, coming up with something more mental than the last.

“I can’t believe some of the twists in store.”

Given Clarke’s involvement in the program, which is notorious for its no-holds-barred attitude to sex, her statements are bound to be contentious. Due to the excessive levels of nudity in Sam Taylor-Johnson’s 50 Shades of Grey adaption, Clarke turned down the part of Anastatia Steele, saying:

“I really wanted to work with Sam Taylor-Johnson because she’s f**king amazing, but there is a huge amount of nudity in the film.”
