Drunken Shia Labeouf arrested ‘in tears’ after disrupting Broadway performance

Actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested after disrupting a Broadway production of Cabaret in New York.

The 28-year-old is accused of two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing for allegedly using obscene language and smoking in the theatre.

Police were called to the scene after LaBeouf ignored repeat security guard requests to leave the venue.

New York Police Department spokesperson, George Tsourovakas, said: He was being rather difficult and combative, verbally To the point where security guards asked him to please leave the premises and he refused. Police were called and he was detained and arrested.

Benj Pasek, Broadway songwriter, claimed that LaBeouf was crying as he was led out of the musical in handcuffs.

This is not the first time that LaBeouf has been arrested.

In February 2011, he was briefly detained after an altercation with a drinker at the Mad Bull Tavern in Sherman Oaks, California.

No charges were filed, but the Los Angeles Police Department did briefly detain him.

In July 2008, he was arrested for drunk driving in West Hollywood, after he collided with another vehicle and rolled his pick-up truck.

In 2007, he was arrested at a Chicago Walgreens store, because he refused to leave after security requests.

He was charged with criminal trespassing, but the charges were later dropped.

In February 2005, LaBeouf was arrested by police in Los Angeles and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, after he threatened his neighbour by driving into his car.

LaBeouf then allegedly appeared at his neighbour’s front door wielding a kitchen knife hours later.

In February this year his erratic behaviour appeared to reach a peak when he wore a brown paper bag over his head to the premiere of the Lars von Trier movie Nymphomaniac.

It was scrawled with the message: I am not famous any more.

He followed this up by walking out of a press conference at the Berlin Film Festival after plagiarising a famous quote by footballer Eric Cantona, who similarly walked out of a news conference in 1995, following his conviction for assault.

When the seagulls follow the trawler, its because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea, LaBeouf rasped, adding, Thank you very much, before pushing the microphone away and fleeing the scene.

After headbutting a fellow drinker in a London pub in January, he then claimed his entire life was performance art, actualising his statement by setting up an installation piece in a Los Angeles shop entitled #IAMSORRY.

This sparked its own spate of plagiarism, mainly by the work of Sliders actor Jerry OConnell, who set up rival installation #IAMSORRYTOO.

The incident marks the latest in a string of bizarre displays of behaviour from the actor who ‘retired’ from public life earlier this year.

LaBeoufs recent antics have led to much speculation over his mental health.

It is said that he had sought treatment for alcoholism earlier this year.

In an interview with Variety in early June, he confirmed that he was receiving treatment for alcoholism and that the process was “hard”.

Its been a while since Ive been in a good place, LaBeouf told the magazine.

Just sometimes, you know, life hits you hard. However, he also claimed to have quit drinking in February of this year.

Despite his recent behaviour, LaBeouf has been successful in his career.

He has been in films such as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Transformers and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

He also had a role in the TV show, Even Stevens.

However, in early January this year, LaBeouf announced that he was retiring from public life.

He tweeted: In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life. He also tweeted a series of apologies to other people who he has upset in the past.

However, it now appears that he has returned to public life, albeit in a way that is causing concern to many people.

LaBeouf has been released from custody and is due in court on 24 July.

The producers of Cabaret have released a statement thanking the theatre staff and the NYPD for their assistance.

This was a disruption for the cast and audience alike, the statement read.

The show must go on.
