Disney actor jailed for sleeping with underage girls

Stoney Westmoreland, the actor who played grandfather Ham on the Disney Channel sitcom Andi Mack, has been sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of attempted exploitation and enticement of a minor.

Westmoreland was originally facing up to 10 years in prison for his crimes.

According to prosecutors, Westmoreland had met a 13-year-old through an online dating app and asked for n^de photos while sending four pornographic images himself.

The actor then took a ride share service to the minor’s Salt Lake City address with the intention of engaging in s**ual activity.

Westmoreland was taken into custody by Salt Lake City police and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force in December 2018.

He was subsequently fired from Andi Mack and has been required to register as a s** offender.

On June 5th, the 52-year-old actor struck a plea deal with Salt Lake City prosecutors, agreeing to serve two years in prison and a decade of supervised release.

Reacting to the sentence, US Attorney John W.

Huber said: “The defendant’s actions left a child victimized and traumatized.

The sentence imposed today holds him accountable for his conduct and should serve as a warning that anyone who preys upon children will be held to account for such reprehensible acts.”

Westmoreland is known for his extensive work in television, with appearances in hit shows such as Scandal, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and NCIS.

He also portrayed the warlord in the Star Trek: Voyager sixth season episode “Muse”.

When news of Westmoreland’s arrest broke, a spokesperson for the Disney Channel released a statement saying: “Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week.”

Westmoreland’s case is one of many high-profile instances of s**ual misconduct in the entertainment industry.

In recent years, several prominent figures have faced public accusations of s**ual harassment or assault, leading to increased scrutiny and calls for greater accountability.

In response to these allegations, many studios and networks have implemented new policies and procedures aimed at preventing and addressing incidents of s**ual misconduct.

However, critics argue that more needs to be done to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable and that victims receive adequate support.

The case of Stoney Westmoreland highlights the ongoing need for vigilance and action when it comes to protecting children from s**ual exploitation and abuse.

While his sentence may serve as a warning to others who engage in such behavior, it is clear that more work remains to be done to create a safer and more just society for all.
