Craig McLachlan performing a s** act on a banana was a ‘very inoffensive gag’, court hears,

A woman who worked with Craig McLachlan on the TV show Doctor Blake Mysteries testified in the New South Wales Supreme Court that she had witnessed the actor perform a s** act with a banana.

However, she defended the incident saying it was “a very inoffensive gag.”

McLachlan is currently suing ABC, Fairfax and actress Christie Whelan Browne for defamation after they accused him of s**ual assault and harassment.

The woman who worked with McLachlan, Jenny Pearson, also revealed that the actor had an excellent reputation among his colleagues.

She described him as a friendly and hard-working individual who was popular on set.

McLachlan previously admitted to performing the s** act on a banana.

During the trial, he also admitted to bringing s**ual jokes and pranks to The Rocky Horror Show, including deep-throating bananas, masturbating crew members’ arms, kissing and grabbing them and using the nickname ‘gobbler’ for others in the show.

McLachlan’s defense barrister, Michael Hodge, asked the actor if he would peel a banana and shape it in some way so it looked like a p-nis and then deep-throat it.

McLachlan replied, “Well, the banana’s already the appropriate shape, but yes.”

McLachlan also sent videos of himself pretending to masturbate fully clothed and clips where he pretended to orgasm in a toilet to Ms Whelan Browne.

He claims that the actress was interested in “deviant s**ual acts” and was dishonest for telling the media she was offended by his conduct.

Another witness, actor Daniel Thompson, testified that McLachlan was loved by everyone in the entertainment industry until he was shunned after media reports accused him of s**ual assault and harassment.

Thompson described McLachlan as ‘a very sensitive person’ and said he was very worried the reports would destroy him.

Thompson became the second witness to testify to worrying that McLachlan could take his life.

McLachlan even told Thompson, “One day I will have to tell you a funny story about an attempted suicide.”

Mr. Thompson testified that he was worried about McLachlan after seeing how the industry had turned its back on him, including people who wouldn’t even talk to him again.

He denied being disparaging about Ms Whelan Browne and others when he tweeted that the ‘victims’ were not asked back to do the 2017 Rocky Horror production.

The defamation trial of Craig McLachlan finished on Thursday, and the defendants will begin calling their witnesses on Friday.

McLachlan is currently seeking damages from ABC, Fairfax and actress Christie Whelan Browne for defamation.
