Chris Pratt Talks About on-screen Sex With Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence will feature in her first-ever sex scene in the forthcoming film Passengers. Chris Pratt, her co-star, took the honor of being her first sex-scene partner extremely seriously. According to E! News, he said at Comic-Con that he tried to be a perfect gentleman. He explained, “We’re actors and it’s a big a part of the job. Your job as a leading man is to make the actress feel comfortable, and you do that by minimizing the amount of people that are there and…having a sense of whether or not they’re feeling okay.”

Pratt earlier told MTV that he and the Oscar winner enjoyed a glass of wine before the cameras began shooting.

Lawrence expressed her fear of the scene on The Hollywood Reporter’s “Actress Roundtable” last year. The actress said, “I got really, really drunk. But then that led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don’t know.’ And he was married. And it was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn’t tell my stomach that.”

They depict a writer (Lawrence) and a mechanic (Pratt) who wake up early on a 120-year journey to another planet in the film.

“It was just nerve-racking. It’s not even about your co-star because Pratt is so wonderful and lovely. My nerves weren’t about him.”

Jennifer stated that she was worried since everyone at work would be watching her and Chris pretend to have sex. Jennifer explained, “It was more about everybody you work with – all of the cameramen, all the producers, and the director. You come to work and all the people who you work with are watching and listening.” Finally, her greatest worry was that someone would show up on set and accuse her of overacting during the sex scene.

Lawrence accurately explained what makes a sex scene so awful when having a glass of red wine with Seth Meyers in December.

“With sex scenes, you don’t know what to do,” the actress said. “You’re like, is it enough? Is it — your worst nightmare — is it too much? Are they going to be like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa!’”
