Charlize Theron snaps at French TV host for kissing female interpreter without consent

Charlize Theron confronted a French TV host live on air after he kissed her female interpreter without her consent.

The event occurred during a promotional interview for the star’s forthcoming film Long Shot on Touche Pas A Mon Poste earlier this week.

When Cyril Hanouna, 44, approached the interpreter, known as Nadia, and planted a kiss on her cheek, the 43-year-old Hollywood heavyweight was taken aback.

“Oh, wow. That was … maybe ask, next time?” Theron said to the host, her steely eyes fixed on him:

Before Cyril appeared awkward, her Long Shot co-star Seth Rogen, 37, who was present in the promotional interview, echoed her remark with a simple ‘yes.’

The incident went viral on Twitter, with people rallying around Charlize and praising her for sticking up for the other woman.

“Being an interpreter and a woman, I really appreciate what Charlize Theron said when the TV host kissed her interpreter out of the blue…,” one said.

“You are so damn right! Charlize, thank you,” remarked another.

‘Thanks Charlize Theron for putting that stinking loser in his place,’ wrote another audience member. ‘Thank you @CharlizeAfrica for teaching him a lesson!’

‘@Cyrilhanouna kissed a girl, @CharlizeAfrica underligned that the girl didn’t give her prior consent and all he does is asking the girl if she was titillated (“émoustillée”). No, she was disgusted, objectified and infantilized on TV by you, stupid clown.’

This isn’t the first time Touche Pas A Mon Poste, which translates as “Don’t Touch My TV” in English, has generated controversy. When Cyril put a fake ad on a gay dating website in 2017 and sought to humiliate everyone who answered, over 20,000 viewers complained.

The Oscar winner made news earlier this month after revealing that she is raising her adoptive son Jackson as a female.

The Academy Award-winner said Jackson was born a male but revealed to her four years ago that she was actually a girl.

Charlize has recently revealed that she is the mother of “two beautiful daughters”

According to the Daily Mail, she said: “Yes, I thought she was a boy, too. Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said, ‘I am not a boy!’

“So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.

“They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.

“My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be.

“And I will do everything in my power for my kids to have that right and to be protected within that,” she continued.

In 2012, Theron adopted Jackson, and in 2015, she adopted August, her second daughter.
