Charlize Theron reveals all on THAT X-rated lesbian s** scene in Atomic Blonde

Charlize Theron has opened up about her experiences filming the highly anticipated lesbian s** scene in her upcoming film, Atomic Blonde.

Theron stars alongside actress Sofia Boutella in the X-rated sequence, which has been teased in the trailers for the movie.

In a recent interview with Variety, Theron revealed that she “just loved” filming the scene for a number of reasons.

“My frustration of how that community is represented in cinema, or lack thereof,” she explained.

“And also, it made perfect sense.”

Theron went on to explain that the scene felt like a way to show a woman not having to fall in love, which is often a common trope in films featuring female characters.

“It’s a woman; she better fall in love—otherwise, she’s a w***e!”

she joked.

The actress also revealed that she worked closely with writer Kurt Johnstad to develop this aspect of the story, calling it one of her “most proudest parts of the development.”

She added that finding Boutella for the role was a “slam dunk.”

“There’s something about her that’s so broken and vulnerable,” Theron said of her co-star.

“It works.”

While Theron is excited about her latest project, she recently spoke less favourably about one of her past films, Aeon Flux.

The 2005 movie was a major flop, but Theron doesn’t seem too cut-up about it now.

“I really loved [director] Karyn Kusama’s movie [Girlfight],” she explained.

“So I threw myself into that with the belief that she’s a great filmmaker.

And then we f**ked it all up.

I just don’t think we really knew how to execute it.”

Atomic Blonde, meanwhile, is set to hit theaters on August 9.

The action-packed spy thriller sees Theron play Lorraine Broughton, an MI6 agent tasked with investigating the murder of a fellow agent in Berlin during the Cold War.

The film also stars James McAvoy, John Goodman, and Toby Jones.

Directed by David Leitch, Atomic Blonde has been generating buzz for its stylish action sequences and Theron’s performance as a fierce and formidable spy.

It remains to be seen how audiences will respond to the film’s lesbian s** scene, but Theron is hopeful that it will help to change the way LGBTQ characters are portrayed on screen.
