Charlie Sheen detained for allegedly strangling inebriated spouse Brooke Mueller, spends Christmas behind bars
Infamous actor Charlie Sheen found himself in an Aspen, Colorado, jail cell on Christmas morning.
The “Two and a Half Men” actor was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. on domestic violence allegations, as per the Aspen Police Department.
Sheen faced charges of second-degree assault, menacing, and criminal mischief, and was held at the Pitkin County detention center, authorities confirmed.
After consulting with a county judge, Sheen posted an $8,500 bail, police spokesperson Stephanie Dasaro in Aspen reported.

According to RadarOnline.com, Sheen allegedly attempted to strangle his wife, Brooke Mueller, who had been residing in an Aspen rental property for roughly three months while Sheen stayed in Los Angeles.
Despite their issues, Sheen traveled to be with Mueller on Christmas, and the couple began quarreling immediately, the website claimed.
TMZ, however, reported that Mueller was legally intoxicated – registering a .13 blood-alcohol level – while Sheen had a .04 level as per police.
Sheen’s publicist Stan Rosenfield released a statement saying, “It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion.”
The two married last year, and this year Mueller gave birth to twin boys Sheen was arrested in 1996 and charged with attacking a girlfriend at his home.
He pleaded no contest and was placed on two years’ probation.
