Buckingham Palace maid calls Prince Andrew a ‘spoilt, nasty man’

A former Buckingham Palace maid has opened up about her experiences working for Prince Andrew. Charlotte Briggs, 47, served as a maid for the Duke of York for a period of time in 1996.

In speaking to The Sun, Briggs spoke out against the royal, calling him “entitled.”

She went on to describe him as a “horrible, nasty man” in an interview with the Daily Mail.

Briggs was not afraid of the backlash that her statements would cause.

She signed a privacy agreement under the Official Secrets Act 26 years ago, but felt inspired to speak out after her husband saw a recent TV program that mentioned the prince’s teddy bears.

Briggs was accused of cashing in on the scandal, but stood by her right to speak out about what happened to her.

Briggs described Prince Andrew as having a demanding and entitled attitude.

She remembered an incident where he blew up at her for leaving a small gap in his curtains, asking, “Can’t you f***ing do anything right?” Briggs said that this behavior spoke volumes about the prince’s character.

She also remembered that no one wanted the job of being his maid because of his reputation for tantrums and sweary outbursts.

Briggs eventually left the position because of the prince’s behavior. She stated that she may have stayed longer if she had been assigned to a different member of the royal family.

The former maid’s comments are likely to have an impact on Prince Andrew’s upcoming trial, where he is facing a civil suit filed by Virginia Giuffre.

Giuffre, who was also a victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, alleged that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was only 17 years old.

Despite attempts by Prince Andrew’s legal team to have the case dismissed, the judge has decided that the royal will be going to trial in a U.S. court.

In light of the scandal, The Queen has stripped Prince Andrew of his royal patronages and military titles.

“I don’t give a toss what Prince Andrew feels,” Briggs said in her interview with the Daily Mail. “He is a horrible, nasty man.”

“Andrew definitely put a downer on things,” Briggs said. “He thinks he’s above everyone.”

“This man fought for his country in the Falklands but couldn’t stand up to close his own curtains,” Briggs said. “It was utterly ridiculous but spoke volumes about him.”

“I’d been there six months when the job to become Andrew’s maid came up. He’d moved back to the palace after his divorce from [Sarah Ferguson],” Briggs said in her original statement to The Sun.

“Nobody wanted the job because of his reputation for tantrums and sweary outbursts.”

Briggs expressed that she was hurt by some of the remarks against her, but was not sorry for speaking out.

“I am entitled to speak about what happened to me even though it was so long ago,” Briggs stated in her interview with the Daily Mail.

“I have been hurt by some of the remarks against me, but I am not sorry at all.”
