Brad Pitt Has A New Tattoo Near His Matching Ink with Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt hasn’t spoken much since his divorce from Angelina Jolie, which is still ongoing. But he’s begun to express himself via art, not just sculpting but, more lately, body art.

During an appearance at the Venice Film Festival, the actor was seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt and newsboy hat.

Pitt displayed his new inner bicep tattoo depicting a man’s silhouette towering over his shadow beneath his T-shirt sleeve.

It’s unknown what the new tattoo represents, but ET reports that fans suggested it may be related to his film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which featured a similar picture on one of its posters.

He also showed off his forearm tattoos, which contain an outline of the 5,300-year-old Alpine mummy, tzi the Iceman, and the phrase “Invictus,” which translates to “unconquered.”

The new enigmatic design is placed next to a quotation from Rumi’s poetry that says,  “There exists a field, beyond all notions of right and wrong. I will meet you there” — a tattoo he got with Angelina Jolie in honor of their 2014 wedding.

Pitt and Jolie also received matching tattoos of Buddhist symbols using the same ink a few months before their divorce “to symbolically bind them as husband and wife.” Pitt is now in Venice promoting his forthcoming film, Ad Astra. During the film’s press conference, he informed reporters that the picture deals with the current notion of masculinity.

“In retrospect, what [director James Gray] and I were digging at was that definition of masculinity,” Pitt said alongside costar Liv Tyler and Gray. “We’ve both grown up in an era where we were asked to be strong… and there is a value in that, but [also a] barrier because you’re hiding some of those things you feel ashamed of. We all hide and carry individual pain and wounds.”

“We were asking the questions – is there a better definition [of masculinity] for us…a better relationship with loved ones, with your kids and with ourselves?” he continued.
