Blake Lively was sexually harassed by makeup artist while sleeping

Actress Blake Lively has come forward with her own story of sexual harassment.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Lively described an incident that occurred on the set of a past project with a makeup artist.

The artist filmed Lively while she was sleeping and made inappropriate comments and actions towards her.

Lively said that the artist “was saying things inappropriately, insisting on putting my lipstick on with his finger.”

Lively reported the incident to the project’s producers for three months, but when they called her into her trailer, they only confronted her about an incident involving her dog defecating in her dressing room.

Lively was shocked and disappointed by this response, saying “this is very serious and we can’t have this happen again.”

Feeling that her complaints were not being adequately addressed, Lively decided to involve her lawyer.

As a result, the makeup artist was dismissed from the project, although no further punishment was given.

Lively stated that “our unit production manager wrote him a letter of recommendation because nobody wanted there to be bad blood.”

Lively’s decision to come forward with her story comes in the midst of the ongoing scandal surrounding film producer Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused of sexually harassing and abusing multiple women in Hollywood over a period of three decades.

Lively has never worked professionally with Weinstein, but the two have been friends in the past and were photographed together at the 2017 Time 100 Gala in April.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lively spoke about the allegations against Weinstein, saying “that was never my experience with Harvey in any way whatsoever, and I think that if people heard these stories… I do believe in humanity enough to think that this wouldn’t have just continued. I never heard any stories like this – I never heard anything specific – but it’s devastating to hear.”

Lively emphasized the importance of listening to and believing the stories of survivors of sexual harassment and abuse.

She said, “the No. 1 thing that can happen is that people who share their stories, people have to listen to them and trust them, and people have to take it seriously.”

The actress also pointed out that sexual harassment and abuse are not limited to the entertainment industry and urged people to “remember to look everywhere. This isn’t a single incident. This cannot happen, this should not happen, and it happens in every single industry.”

In conclusion, Lively stated that “it’s important that women are furious right now. It’s important that there is an uprising. It’s important that we don’t stand for this and that we don’t focus on one or two or three or four stories, it’s important that we focus on humanity in general and say, ‘This is unacceptable.’”
