Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt two months ago, and now another of Jolie’s ex-husbands is speaking up about their marriage.

Billy Bob Thornton has revealed additional insights regarding his brief but highly publicized marriage to Angelina Jolie.

“I never felt good enough for her,” the actor said of the couple’s high-profile lifestyle, adding, “I’m real uncomfortable around rich and important people.”

Thornton stated that he did not believe he needed to change in order to keep their marriage going. “I like how I am,” he said.

The Bad Santa 2 actor and the 41-year-old actress met on the set of Pushing Tin in 1999 and married a year later in 2000. The couple, who had tattoos of each other’s names and carried vials of each other’s blood around their necks, divorced in 2003, three months after Angelina adopted her first child, Maddox, from Cambodia.

Thornton still has a tattoo of Jolie’s name on his calf that he has never had erased, as well as one on his arm that is partially hidden by an angel. “See, it’s just resting there,” he said. “You can still see the name.”

Despite having a difficult marriage with Angelina, the Boxmasters frontman insists there is no bad blood between him and his fifth wife. In fact, he stated that he and Angie are still friends and that they talk every few months are much like old times. Billy is now married to actress Connie Angland, his sixth wife. The couple married in 2014 when their daughter Bella was 10.. From prior partnerships, he is also the father of Amanda, 37, William, 23, and Harry, 22.

Following her divorce from Thornton, Jolie began dating Pitt after meeting him on the set of their 2005 picture, Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September of this year, following two years of marriage and 11 years together. The Department of Child and Family Services cleared the 52-year-old actor of child abuse claims just last week.

Jolie’s agent earlier told Us on November 7 that the children will stay in her care for the time being, with Pitt having visiting rights. “We can confirm that childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement and [that it was] signed by both sides over a week ago,” her rep said. “In accordance with this agreement, the six children will stay in their mother’s custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father.”
