According to a book, the creator of the benign Barbie and Ken dolls was a serial swinger who had 0rgies with doll lookalikes.

Ryan worked with Mattel for 20 years, rising to the position of vice president of research and development before becoming a consultant. He was the brains behind Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Chatty Cathy.

In Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel, it is revealed that Barbie’s designer, Jack Ryan, was a “full-blown seventies-style swinger” with “a manic need for se*ual gratification.” Ryan used to organize multiple 0rgies at his Bel-Air house back in the day.

Ryan surrounded himself with busty Barbie clones, including Gwen Florea, who was the “voice of Barbie” in a series of talking dolls, and whose husbands included Zsa Zsa Gabor. “He once said to me he loved me being tall so he could stick his nose in my boobs when he hugged me,” she says in the book.

Ryan’s buddy Stephen Gnass said, “When Jack talked about creating Barbie… it was like listening to somebody talk about a se*ual episode, almost like listening to a se*ual pervert.”

Ryan allegedly took “calls from a madam at Mattel” and would frequently hook up with one “very thin and child-like” hooker.

Ryan “somehow rationalized that he was the only man in her life,” according to the book, until he was diagnosed with gonorrhea.

Ken, named after the son of Mattel founders Ruth and Elliot Handler, was queer and grew up embarrassed by his gender-neutral namesake, according to the book.

“To all those who knew him Ken Handler was a wonderful father, a loving husband… But there was another side to Ken. And in 1990 he was formally diagnosed with AIDS. His parents and wife were shocked.”

The dolls were named after the Mattel founders’ children, which Ken felt humiliating because he “grew up embarrassed and humiliated by having an anatomically incorrect boy doll named after him… [with] no hint of genitalia.” Ken was also a covert homosexual man who married and had three children before succumbing to AIDS in 1994.
