Ashton Kutcher almost died while following Steve Jobs Diet for Movie Role

Mila Kunis is speaking out about her husband Ashton Kutcher’s challenging circumstances as he prepared to play Steve Jobs by eating a highly restricted diet consisting largely of fruit, grains, and seeds.

The 38-year-old Bad Moms actress opened up about the actor’s medical disaster and how he wound up in the hospital twice while appearing on the latest edition of Hot Ones, which aired on Thursday (October 28).

One of the questions posed by the show’s host, Sean Evans, was if Kutcher, 43, had pancreatitis as a result of drinking “too much carrot juice” while preparing to play Steve Jobs in the 2013 film Jobs.

Kunis said it was true, and explained that it was even worse than Kutcher was letting on.

“Oh, he’s downplaying it,” Kunis said to Evans.

“He was dumb. He also only ate grapes at one point. It’s so stupid”

Mila and Ashton “ended up in the hospital twice” while the actor was on a fruit-only diet to get into character as Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, who was notorious for being a “fruitatian” due to his neuroendocrine cancer.

“So, fact check, yes, it was really dumb.”

Ashton said in 2013 that he had been on a fruit-only diet and was “doubled over in pain” due to pancreatic difficulties.

He said, “First of all, the fruitarian diet can lead to like severe issues.”

Ashton remembered, “My pancreas levels were completely out of whack. It was really terrifying … considering everything.”

In the meanwhile, Kunis highlighted her involvement in two animation projects backed by NFTs on the episode, Gimmicks and Stoner Cats.

The episodes would not have been able to be developed in the usual TV market, according to the actress, and Gimmicks is a “choose your own adventure”-style show with a cliffhanger at the conclusion of each episode.

Kutcher, Jane Fonda, Family Guy co-creator Seth MacFarlane, and Chris Rock feature in Stoner Cats, which is billed as an “adult animated series centered on five house cats who mysteriously become sentient.”
