Armie Hammer under investigation for brutal rape

After a lady who claims she had an intimate relationship with Armie Hammer started an Instagram account to disclose grisly details of the weird sexual encounters she claims they used to have, he found himself in the middle of some significant controversy. The lady has also given images of purportedly sexual Instagram DM chats between Hammer and other women. While most people wouldn’t be startled by the kind of filthy talk or sexting in 2021, the purported discussions included rape fantasies, the desire to inflict pain on his lovers, and one in which the actor reportedly stated that he was “100% a cannibal.”

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has now verified to Insider that Hammer is being investigated as the primary suspect in a sexual assault case.

Hammer, who is most known for his appearance in the 2018 film Call Me By Your Name, has been accused of brutal rape and physical abuse by a 24-year-old woman during the course of their four-year on-again, off-again relationship. Gloria Allred represents Effie, who has opted not to use her last name, and she expounded on her narrative at a virtual news conference on Thursday.

“I thought that he was going to kill me,” Effie said through her attorney, Gloria Allred.

“On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles, during which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall, bruising my face,” Effie stated. “He also committed other acts of violence against me to which I did not consent.”

Hammer has disputed some of the charges leveled against him, such as rape, while avoiding or refusing to discuss others.

Hammer’s lawyer, Andrew Brettler of Lavely & Singer, supplied a screenshot of text message exchange between Hammer and Effie, in which Hammer texts, “I am not going to be able to engage in you in that specific way right now,” according to the screenshot. “It never ends well. We can talk and be friends, but I can’t do that.”

The screenshot was “just one of hundreds” supplied to Hammer by Effie, according to Hammer’s lawyer.

“Effie’s own correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and refutes her outrageous allegations. As recently as July 18, 2020, [she] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her. Mr. Hammer responded making it clear that he did not want to maintain that type of relationship with her,” Brettler said in a statement.

“It was never Mr. Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose [Effie’s] fetishes or kinky sexual desires, but she has now escalated this matter to another level by hiring a civil lawyer to host a public press conference. With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight,” the statement reads. “From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [Effie] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory. [Effie’s] attention seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.”

Two projects have canceled Hammer, including a series on Paramount’s upcoming streaming service on the filming of “The Godfather.” His publicist and his agency both dumped him.

Effie, a 24-year-old European resident, did not provide her complete legal name during the news conference. Until recently, it’s been assumed that she’s the lady behind the “House of Effie” Instagram account, which was the source of the first allegations against Hammer.
