Amber Heard Being Investigated By LAPD for perjury, Facing Years of Jail Time
Amber Heard is being probed for perjury in her domestic abuse case against Hollywood actor Johnny Depp. Heard had accused her then-husband of physical violence throughout their marriage.
The question of whether or not this truly happened has fueled the former couple’s numerous court fights in the years since. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating Heard’s accusations, according to the German website BILD, to confirm she did not misrepresent any information about the alleged physical altercation. Depp’s lawyer, Adam Waldman, confirmed that the inquiry is ongoing in a statement to the publication, and made some serious charges against Heard in the process, saying that she “staged” the whole incident.
Heard faces a maximum term of four years in prison if convicted of the crime in California. According to the outlet’s article:
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has launched an inquiry into Amber. The reason: She is accused of lying about the famous incident in May 2016, in which Johnny Depp wrecked the joint luxury penthouse and smacked her in the face with a phone.
Two 911 calls were received on May 21. The first unit arrived at 9:05 p.m. at Johnny’s 849 South Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles, while the second unit came at 10:28 p.m. A bodycam footage of police officers who had been summoned then captured a scenario that differed from what Amber Heard had previously stated in court in London. This, according to Depp’s lawyer, indicates that “the crime scene was an enormous lie.”

The new information, according to Waldman, “proves” that the dramatic brawl between the two that Heard alleges occurred never transpired. According to reports, the two officers who arrived first at the site indicated in their depositions that they saw no proof of a crime at all.
The video proved that the place was not in disorder, as the Aquaman actress alleged.
