Amber Heard arrested for domestic violence against girlfriend

It has been revealed that actress Amber Heard, who recently claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse by her divorced spouse Johnny Depp, was arrested for the same crime against her previous lover Tasya Van Ree in 2009.

Heard, 30, was detained at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after an apparent incident with van Ree. The actress was detained and charged with minor domestic abuse after reportedly grabbing and striking van Ree’s arm.

In official records, Heard went under the name “Amber Vanree,” which was van Ree’s last name. According to court documents, she was freed on Sept. 15, 2009, after prosecutors declined to pursue any charges.

A source told the Daily News on Tuesday, “It was a very minor incident. It was not really a big deal and nothing came from it.”

The King County court clerk confirms that Heard went before a judge on Sept. 15, 2009, for a “probable cause assault, domestic violence” hearing, according to their records.

According to Sea-Tac spokesperson Perry Cooper, the police received a request to erase the arrest information on the case in November of 2011, and it was subsequently purged from the system as authorized by Washington state law.

But not from all systems apparently.

Van Ree, on the other hand, believes Heard was wrongly charged and that the incident was exaggerated. Van Ree, Heard’s publicist, claimed two police “misinterpreted and over-sensationalized” the encounter in a statement released Wednesday.

“In 2009, Amber was wrongfully accused for an incident that was misinterpreted and over-sensationalized by two individuals in a power position,” according to a statement made by van Ree on Wednesday. “I recount hints of misogynistic attitudes toward us which later appeared to be homophobic when they found out we were domestic partners and not just ‘friends.’ Charges were quickly dropped and she was released moments later. It’s disheartening that Amber’s integrity and story are being questioned yet again. Amber is a brilliant, honest and beautiful woman and I have the utmost respect for her. We shared 5 wonderful years together and remain close to this day.”

Meanwhile, Heard’s friend, writer, and TV personality iO Tillett Wright — the same friend who contacted 911 to report Depp’s alleged assault in May — defended the actress on Twitter on Monday.

“Bulls**t. “I’ve had enough,” Wright said, criticizing a story that raised doubts about Heard’s injuries. “I saw the bruises. Many times. And the fat lip. And the cut head.”

“How much evidence does a woman need to present?!” Wright went on. “She has photos, texts, witnesses, and filed a restraining order… This culture of victim blaming makes me sick. I’m a witness. I’m here. I’m standing up. I can’t take any more of this witch hunt.”

Amber, 30, is presently pursuing a divorce against Johnny, alleging that he was abusive towards her and hurled his iPhone at her, hurting her face.

Depp’s attorney Laura Wasser claimed in court records in response to Heard’s original court filing that Heard “is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”
