Amanda Seyfried was forced to film n-ked scenes at 19

Amanda Seyfried, now 36, began her career as a model in her teenage years before transitioning to acting at 17.

She initially appeared in soap operas like As the World Turns and All My Children but gained prominence when she was cast as Karen Smith in the 2004 film Mean Girls, alongside Rachel McAdams and Lindsay Lohan.

While working on Mean Girls, Seyfried admitted to struggling with self-esteem and feeling like she “slipped through the cracks.”

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she recounted an incident where she unknowingly wore a see-through black dress to the film’s premiere due to inexperience in the industry.

After Mean Girls, Seyfried appeared in movies such as American Gun and Alpha Dog, as well as 11 episodes of Veronica Mars.

She recently earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Elizabeth Holmes in the Hulu series The Dropout and an Academy Award nomination for Mank.

In a recent interview with Porter, Seyfried reflected on the greater respect she now receives in the industry and her increased confidence on set.

However, she also revealed that at the beginning of her career, she agreed to film nud scenes because she was afraid of upsetting others or losing her job.

Amanda did not mention specific projects but was 19 at the time Mean Girls was released and while filming episodes of All My Children.

Other roles around that time include appearances in Nine Lives, House, American Gun, and Alpha Dog.

Seyfried explained that her current feeling of respect on set is not due to fame, recognition, or critical acclaim but rather because she is now a 36-year-old who knows who she is.

Previously, Seyfried has discussed the early days of her career and the inappropriate reactions she received from men regarding her Mean Girls character.

In May, she told Marie Claire that she still feels “grossed out” when men approach her and make comments referencing a scene where her character gro pes her breasts to predict the weather.

There has been growing concern and discussion about the treatment of young actors in the entertainment industry.

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney has admitted to feeling “disgusting” during sex scenes on other sets, while British actress Kaya Scodelario, known for her role in Skins, has acknowledged that safeguarding was lacking during graphic sex scenes on the show.

Conversely, Game of Thrones actor Sean Bean recently faced backlash for suggesting that intimacy coordinators, who ensure actors’ well-being during intimate scenes, “spoil the spontaneity” of filming sex scenes.
