Actress refuses to film under wear scene

Roxy Shahidi, who portrays Leyla Cavanagh in Emmerdale, refused to do an underwear scene.

The character Leyla is currently in a dark and intense storyline, as she has been kidnapped by drug dealer Callum.

The storyline has gripped audiences, with many fearing for Leyla’s safety.

In the recent episode, Callum attacked Leyla after she and Suzy Merton’s attempt to take him down failed.

He hinted that he would murder Leyla if she didn’t stop talking. Leyla’s colleague Caleb offered her advice to stand up to her adversary and make it clear she’s not to be messed with.

However, Callum realized that he had been cut off by his contacts, and he began to fear for his safety.

Knowing that going on the run was his only option, he decided to take Leyla with him.

Leyla pleaded with him to let her go, but he smacked her across the face, knocking her unconscious, and gagged her again, ordering her to stay quiet.

The storyline has been praised for its intensity, with viewers worried about Leyla’s fate.

In response to the storyline, Roxy Shahidi stated that she felt uncomfortable with a planned underwear scene, and it was removed from the script.

She told The Sun, “I’m not comfortable with it, so they’ve taken it out for me. It was just an underwear scene, I can’t really say more.”

The Emmerdale team is known for being accommodating and understanding of their actors’ concerns.

A source close to the show said, “Roxy is a valued member of the Emmerdale cast, and the team always listens to any concerns she may have. They are always happy to accommodate her and make her feel comfortable.”

The Emmerdale team also received praise for their handling of Leyla’s kidnapping storyline.

A spokesperson for Women’s Aid, a UK charity that aims to end domestic abuse, praised the show’s portrayal of Leyla’s ordeal.

They said, “We are grateful that Emmerdale is raising awareness of the true nature of domestic abuse, including coercive control and the fear that victims can feel. We hope that this storyline will help people to understand the complex issues surrounding domestic abuse and seek support.”

The spokesperson also urged anyone affected by domestic abuse to seek help, saying, “If you are experiencing domestic abuse, or are worried about someone you know, Women’s Aid is here to help. Please call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247, or visit our website for information and support.”

Emmerdale has a history of tackling difficult and sensitive issues, and the team works hard to ensure that they are portrayed accurately and with sensitivity.

The current storyline has been in the works for some time, with the team consulting with experts to ensure that it is handled correctly.

Viewers will have to wait to see what happens to Leyla and whether she will be found in time.
